While the last week was deprived of any major launches, it still brought along a bunch of interesting stories from major manufacturers such as KTM and Royal Enfield. And we covered every single update for you. However, in case you missed any of them, here’s a round up of the top five two-wheelers stories from the last week.
KTM 390 Adventure unofficial bookings open
The KTM 390 Adventure is all set to be launched at the 2019 Indian Bike Week next month. While that is still a few days away, select KTM dealers have already started accepting bookings for the motorcycle. The booking amount varies from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000, depending on the dealer, and it is fully refundable. KTM is expected to price the motorcycle between Rs 3.2 lakhs to Rs 3.5 lakhs (ex-showroom) while deliveries will commence from January 2020 onwards.
Royal Enfield road-legal exhausts launched
For the riders who want more thump from their Classic 350, Royal Enfield has officially introduced factory-fitted exhaust slip-ons for the motorcycle. Priced in the range of Rs 3,300 to Rs 3,600, the manufacturer has listed a line-up of 16 different exhausts with a variety of designs (peashooter, slash-cut, straight-cut and tapered end) and finishing. While these exhausts are 40 per cent lighter than the stock unit, they also come with a two-year warranty.
BS6 TVS Apache models spied testing
TVS was recently spied testing the Apache RTR 160 and the RTR 160 4V models at the ARAI facility in Pune. And if reports are to be believed, the motorcycles were undergoing BS6 compliance tests which hints towards their imminent launch in India. Besides the upgrade on the engine, the Apache RTR 160 4V is also expected to get LED lighting as well as Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster. On the other hand, RTR 160 2V might just receive subtle cosmetic updates, apart from a fuel injected motor for adhering to the new emission norms.
Bajaj Pulsar 125 drum variant not on sale
Bajaj had launched the Pulsar 125 Neon in the month of August. The motorcycle was introduced in two variants including drum brake and front disc models. However, we learned from our dealer sources that the pricing and stock of drum variant have stopped arriving and the showrooms have the front disc version only. On top of that, Bajaj’s official website also displays the pricing only for the disc variant. Although the company hasn’t confirmed the discontinuation of the Pulsar 125 drum brake variant, a brand representative did affirm that the major demand is only for the disc brake model of the motorcycle.
CFMoto to launch new bikes in 2020
CFMoto, a Chinese bike maker which recently entered in India, has inaugurated a new dealership in Mumbai. At the opening of the dealership, the company revealed that it will launch a line-up of four motorcycles in 2020. This will include the 400NK, 400GT, 300SR and the flagship 700CL-X range. Notably, the latter was recently unveiled at the 2019 EICMA show in Milan. The new bikes will join CFMoto’s existing portfolio which comprises of the 300NK, 650GT, 650NK and the 650MT. In other news, the company is also aiming to further localize its products in India in order to make them more affordable.
