Yet another week passed by, and how! The KTM RC 125 launch grabbed all the attention from motorcycle enthusiasts and buyers. On the other hand, the unveiling of the Revolt RV400 signified that even electric motorcycles can be profoundly exciting. Interestingly, there was more to take note of in the two-wheeler industry in the last week and we bring you a quick round-up of all those important stories.
KTM RC 125 launched
Looking at the popularity and sales of the 125 Duke in India, KTM has launched its fully-faired sibling, the RC 125 in the country. Sharing the underpinnings with its naked sibling, the RC 125 borrows its overall styling from the RC 200 and the RC 390. However, the pair of bold colour options available for the motorcycle set it apart. The Austrian bikemaker has introduced the baby RC at an introductory price of Rs 1.47 lakhs which puts it against the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.
Revolt RV400 electric bike unveiled
Giving a glimpse of what the future holds for us, Revolt Intellicorp unveiled its first AI-enabled electric motorcycle, the RV400 in India. The Gurgaon-based startup, Revolt has equipped the motorcycle with futuristic gizmos to the brim. The motorcycle offers an electric starter button, geo fencing, three riding modes, multiple artificial exhaust sound and four options for charging. You can read more about the bike here. While the pre-bookings for the RV400 will commence from 25 June, full details of the e-bike will be revealed next month.
2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 images leaked
Now that Suzuki has already introduced the 2019 Gixxer SF 155 fully-faired motorcycle, next up will be its naked sibling. Although we are still a few months away from its launch, the images of the 2019 Gixxer 155 have emerged on the internet. Apparently, the Japanese bikemaker has taken a more aggressive approach for a design which was already edgy. Adorning a fresh set of body panels, the Gixxer 155 will share the cycle parts and engine with its SF sibling. The motorcycle is expected to be priced around Rs 95,000.
Bajaj-Triumph deal to be finalised
Bajaj and Triumph have been in the headlines for the ongoing talks of their potential partnership. While we were waiting for an official announcement, a top honcho at Bajaj confirmed that the formalities of joining hands will reach its culmination point in the next two months. The partnership will see Triumph developing middle-weight motorcycles while Bajaj will take care of the manufacturing department. These motorcycles will be sold in India as well exported to international markets.
Harley-Davidson 338cc bike to be made in China
A few months after Harley-Davidson revealed its intention to tie-up with a South-Asian company, the American bikemaker has now announced its collaboration with Qianjang Motorcycle. The Chinese bikemaker, along with Harley, will develop an affordable 338cc naked machine. The motorcycle will be made in China and will be exported to other markets. Moreover, Harley-Davidson has also released a render of the 338cc bike which looks like a big departure from the bikemaker’s traditional motorcycle designs. Expect this bike to be launched in China by the end of 2020 followed by its debut in other markets, including India.
