The last week was the most eventful week of 2024 as we witnessed a host of new unveils and launches at the EICMA show in Milan. In case you couldn’t stay up to date with all the action, here’s a quick round-up.
Royal Enfield Bear 650 launched
Royal Enfield launched the scrambler version of the Interceptor 650 called the Bear 650. While it shares its platform with the INT, there are some significant changes to the chassis, wheels, suspension, dimensions, and design. The prices of the bike start from Rs. 3.39 lakh and go up to Rs. 3.59 lakh. Simultaneously, Royal Enfield also unveiled the Classic 650 prices of which will be released at Motoverse.
Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 electric bike
Royal Enfield’s first-ever production electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6 was unveiled at EICMA. It is being positioned as an urban motorcycle. The bike has been built around an aluminium frame which holds a light-weight magnesium battery casing. Plus, there’s a circular Bluetooth-enabled TFT screen along with a traction control system and cornering ABS, making it the first ever Royal Enfield to get these modern safety aids. Royal Enfield will launch the Flying Flea C6 in 2026.
New Hero bikes
Hero Motocorp also went on an unveil spree at EICMA as it took the wraps off multiple new and updated offerings. The talk of the town were the new Karizma XMR 250, Xtreme 250R, and the Xpulse 210. Besides these brand new offerings, the company also showcased the 2025 models of the Mavrick 440 and Karizma XMR 210. However, the main highlight at Hero’s stand were the design sketches of the Xpulse 421 concept.
Aprilia Tuono 457 unveiled
Aprilia took the covers off the much-awaited Tuono 457 at the EICMA 2024. It is based on the RS 457 sportbike. Besides being stripped of the fairing and receiving a new radical headlamp section, it gets a tubular single-piece handlebar thereby offering more comfortable seating ergonomics. Just like the RS 457, it will be manufactured in India and will sit below its sportbike sibling in terms of pricing.
New KTM 390 motorcycles
KTM finally gave us the first look at its highly-anticipated adventure-oriented 390 models. The Austrian bike maker showed the top-of-the-line 390 Adventure R which will have the most number of features and the most premium components of the lot. The 390 Enduro R and 390 SMC R also made their first public appearance but these are unlikely to come to India in the initial phase.
