While some bikemakers launched new products, a few others hinted at those models which are in the offing. Either ways, we were busy covering every major and minor update which came our way in the last week. Just in case you missed out on any of these, here’s a quick round-up of all the important bike updates from the past week.
Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 350 and 500 launched
Royal Enfield added two new models to its line-up as it launched the Bullet Trials 350 and the Bullet Trials 500. Boasting of a scrambler styling, the motorcycles are based on the standard Bullet 350 and 500. However, they carry a few distinctions to justify their scrambler tag and pay homage to RE’s Bullet Trials model which was launched in 1948. As for the pricing, the Trials 350 costs Rs 1.62 lakhs and the Trials 500 retails at Rs 2.07 lakhs.
2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 pricing revealed
Although Bajaj officially revealed the 2019 Dominar 400 in the first week of March, the bikemaker left us at the edge of our seats in anticipation of the price announcement. Now though, the dealers have revealed that the motorcycle has been priced at Rs 1.73 lakhs which is a hike of over Rs 10,000 over the previous model. For 2019, the Bajaj Dominar 400 as received several updates such as a new twin-barrel exhaust can, USD (upside down) front forks instead of telescopic units, upgraded instrumentation and a more powerful engine.
New Royal Enfield Classic and Thunderbird spied
After launching the Bullet Trials 350 and 500, Royal Enfield is all set to upgrade the Thunderbird and Classic models. Going by the spy images which were shot in Chennai, the motorcycles will receive mild updates to their styling and cycle parts. While the 350cc and 500cc engine options are likely to remain the same, the company might upgrade the motors in accordance with the upcoming BS VI emission norms.
Aprilia SR with BS VI engine spied
Piaggio is expected to launch a new Aprilia SR scooter with a BS VI engine which was spotted on test recently. The scooter was adorned with bodywork similar to the Aprilia Storm 125 which was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo. However, owing to the ‘160’ lettering on the front apron, it is to be seen whether this will be a new model of the SR150 or the SR125. Piaggio is expected to launch it in the coming weeks.
CF Moto 400NK spotted testing
CF Moto, a Chinese motorcycle brand, was spotted testing yet another motorcycle, the 400NK in India. This came in after the company was sighted testing the 250NK and the 650NK in Hyderabad. The company has been testing its products extensively in India as it is planning to enter our market in collaboration with AMW Motors. Expected to be launched in May or June, the CF Moto bikes will be locally assembled in order to keep the pricing aggressive.
Bajaj Platina 100 CBS launched
Bajaj has updated its commuter motorcycle, the Platina 100 with CBS (combi braking system) and priced it at Rs 40,500. This is a minimal hike of Rs 100 over its non-CBS model. Positioned above the CT100, the Bajaj Platina 100 is powered by a 102cc engine which produces 8.1bhp and 8.6Nm and it comes mated to a four-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is available in ebony black and cocktail wine red colour options.
TVS Victor launched with CBS
Apart from Bajaj, TVS has also introduced CBS (combi braking system) in its commuter offering, the Victor. The motorcycle comes in three variants including Drum, Disc and Premium which are priced at Rs 54,682, Rs 56,682 and Rs 57,682, respectively. This is a premium of Rs 640 over its non-CBS model. The TVS Victor features a 109.7cc engine which churns out 9.46bhp and 9.4Nm and this unit is mated to a four-speed gearbox.
