The Indian two-wheeler market witnessed the entry of just one new offering last week. However, all the limelight was stolen by two test mules that are said to be products of the Bajaj-Triumph partnership. Kawasaki Z650 RS 50th Anniversary edition launched
Kawasaki brought the Z650 RS 50th Anniversary Edition to India a few weeks after it was globally unveiled. The motorcycle costs Rs 6.79 lakh which is Rs 7,000 more than the standard version. The bike boasts a unique paint scheme derived from the iconic Kawasaki Z1. Called ‘Candy Diamond Brown’ it might be uncommon for Kawasaki motorcycles now but had a massive demand in the yesteryears.
Yamaha revised the prices of the new Aerox 155 in India which will be applicable from February 2022. The maxi sport-scooter is now Rs 1,000 more expensive and retails for Rs 1,32,000. This has not brought any mechanical changes to the scooter. A major highlight of the Aerox is its YZF R15 V4-derived engine. This 155cc, liquid-cooled mill gets variable valve actuation and produces 14.79bhp and 13.9Nm.
Triumph Trident 660 price hike
Triumph announced the first price increase for its roadster model, the Trident 660, in India. The middleweight roadster was launched in the country in April 2021 with an introductory price of Rs 6,95,000. Following the recent price hike of Rs 50,000, it is now available at Rs 7,45,000, which is effective from 1 February, 2022.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 new sales milestone
The new iteration of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 has already reached the 1,00,000 unit production milestone. The motorcycle was launched in the Indian market in September 2021. It is based on the same J platform as the Meteor 350 and boasts changes in terms of design, cycle parts, and engine. It also gets additional features over the previous model.
Bajaj-Triumph motorcycles first spy shots
The Bajaj-Triumph tie-up is one of the biggest collaborations in the two-wheeler industry in a decade. Surprisingly, the first two motorcycles to be spawned by this partnership have already been spotted testing somewhere in Europe for the first time. One of these is a roadster and the other is a scrambler and you can read about them here and here. The exact launch timelines of these bikes are not known yet but we expect them to be unveiled by early 2023.
