It was a very exciting and busy week with a lot of developments taking place in the two-wheeler industry. But the most notable stories were those of upcoming models being spotted testing, and some new launches. So following our Sunday ritual, we are here with the top five bike updates from the last week.
Royal Enfield was spotted testing what reportedly was the Hunter. The company had patented this name in 2019 and it has constantly been a hot topic amongst motorcycle enthusiasts. As can be observed from the picture, the test mule sported a scrambler-like styling with a tall stance, a high-set and chopped rear fender and block pattern tyres. Curious to know more? Jawa Forty-Two Scrambler version spotted
We also got our hands on the spy shots of a new Jawa undergoing tests. We believe this was the scrambler version of the Forty-Two. While it incorporated a few elements borrowed from the Forty-Two, there were bits like dual purpose tyres, fork gaiters, off-road seat and exposed tail section that give it a scrambler-like appeal. It might be officially launched during the festive season this year with a price tag slightly higher than that of the Forty-Two.
Royal Enfield 650cc twins get new colours
Royal Enfield has updated the palette of its flagship offerings, the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. While the former has received as many as seven new shades, the latter can now be opted with one of the five available colours. All these colour schemes include a good mix of jazzy as well as understated shades. Mechanically, both bikes remain entirely untouched.
Hero Destini 125 Platinum launched
Hero has introduced the Platinum version of its 125cc scooter, the Destini 125, priced at Rs 72,050. That means it is around Rs 5,000 more expensive than the standard trim of the scooter. For the extra money, you get a new matt black colour with brown inner panels and white rim tape. Also, there’s chrome handlebar ends, chrome mirrors, a chrome muffler protector, and chrome fender stripe. It also features a 3D logo Platinum badging and a colored seat with Platinum hot stamping.
BMW has launched its first premium M-badged motorcycle, the M 1000 RR, in India. As the name suggests, it is based on the S1000 RR but packs in certain elements that make it much more potent. Its 999cc, inline-four mill has been internally revised to make 209bhp and 113Nm. It also boasts a lot of carbon-fibre elements, higher-end electronics and more premium hardware. It comes in standard and Competition trims that cost Rs 42 lakh and Rs 45 lakh, respectively.
