The last week was all about big launches such as that of the new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and the updated TVS Apache RTR 200 4V with multiple riding modes. Furthermore, the much-anticipated KTM 250 Adventure also started reaching dealerships. More such stories occupied the headlines last week and here’s a quick round up of the top five of them.
Royal Enfield Meteor 350 launch
After numerous spy shots and teasers appearing on the internet, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 finally broke cover last week. The motorcycle is the spiritual successor to the Thunderbird 350 and is aimed at long-distance highway cruising. It is based on an all-new double cradle while the 350cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled is also new. Unlike the existing REs, the Meteor is also equipped with modern features such as a Bluetooth-enabled console. It will be available in three variants – Fireball, Stellar and Supernova which are priced at Rs 1.76 lakh, Rs 1.81 lakh and Rs 1.90 lakh, respectively.
New TVS Apache RTR 200 4V launch
TVS Motor Company rode in the updated version of its 200cc street bike, the Apache RTR 200 4V. What surprised everyone is the fact that this bike gets three riding modes (rain, road and sport), something that was unheard of in this segment until now. It also incorporates top-notch Showa suspension setup with preload adjustability while the clutch and brake levers are also adjustable. Furthermore, TVS introduced a new blue paint scheme for the bike, inspired by its One Make race bikes. Priced at Rs 1.31 lakh, the new Apache RTR 200 4V is around Rs 2,500 more expensive than the previous dual ABS model.
Ducati Multistrada 950 S launch
Ducati launched the new 2020, BS6-compliant edition of its adventure tourer, the Multistrada 950S, in India. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs 15.49 lakh. It sports a design inspired by the larger Multistrada 1260 and comes adorned with a tri-tone GP White livery that looks distinctive. A red colour option is also available. Powering the bike is a 937cc, L-twin, Testastretta DVT engine which makes 113bhp and 96Nm. Furthermore, the electronics package comprises a TFT display, four riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control and Vehicle Hold Control.
It’s been months since the BS6 deadline of 1 April has passed but the Hero Xtreme 200S is still due to receive the mandatory update. Now, it seems like the company is all set to launch the cleaner version of the fully-faired motorcycle as we have received the price of the bike. It will cost Rs 1,15,714 which is around Rs 14,000 more than the BS4 model. Considering the bike is fairly new, it will certainly receive updates only in its engine.
KTM 250 Adventure reaches dealerships
Although the KTM 250 Adventure was supposed to come a few weeks back, its India launch has witnessed a significant delay. Now, the wait for the bike might come to an end soon as the 250 ADV has started reaching dealerships in India. While it borrows most of its cycle parts and styling from the 390 Adventure, the 250cc engine is the same which does duty on the 250 Duke street bike. The motorcycle is likely to be priced around Rs 2.3 lakh and will compete against the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
