The last week was a little bleak because it was deprived of new two-wheeler launches. However, it wasn’t short on excitement as we covered many updates about upcoming two-wheelers, some of which are hugely anticipated. In case you aren’t aware of these developments yet, here’s a quick round-up.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 to be launched
Royal Enfield is prepping to launch the new Shotgun 650 in India in mid-January. This will be Royal Enfield's fourth bike based on its 650cc platform and is likely to be priced below the Super Meteor 650. For reference, the latter is priced from Rs. 3.60 lakh onwards. The Shotgun will be offered in four paint schemes – Green Drill, Plasma Blue, Sheetmetal Grey, and Stencil white. Once launched, it will rival the Jawa 42 Bobber.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 India launch
Our dealer sources have informed us that the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is set to be launched in India very soon. The brand is planning to bring the bike here in January and the unofficial bookings, too, have begun with a token amount of Rs. 5,000. As of now, there is no word regarding the pricing but we expect Husqvarna to price it between Rs. 2.65 - 2.75 lakh.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R launch date
Kawasaki recently unveiled the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R in India at the India Bike Week 2023. The company has now announced that the new Ninja ZX-6R will be launched on 1 January, 2024. The new iteration of the bike features updated styling, while the engine complies with the latest Euro-5 emission norms. The motorcycle’s fascia has been revised slightly to resemble the Ninja ZX-10R’s design. That said, the rest of the bike's design and specifications are identical to the older model.
Hero’s upcoming 440cc bike teased
Hero has released a teaser video of its upcoming 440cc motorcycle which will be launched in India on 22 January, 2024. As per the invite we have received, the name of the bike starts with the letter ‘R’ and the exhaust note sounds similar to the Harley-Davidson X440. It goes without saying that this Hero offering will be based on the same platform as the X440. However, it has certainly gone through a major overhaul to have a persona of its own.
Aprilia Tuono 457 reportedly in the works
Aprilia recently launched the RS 457 in India with a price tag of Rs 4.10 lakh. And given that the brand has its Tuono streetfighter in its 660cc and 1100cc range, it is obvious that a 457cc version would make its debut soon too. The motorcycle already has a base in the form of the RS 457 and would come with the same engine and cycle parts. However, the bodywork will be deprived of a large fairing and should look similar to the bigger Tuonos.
