Last week was all about new products as it witnessed launches in commuter as well as premium two-wheeler segment. We also saw the introduction of the first electric scooter since the lockdown was imposed. To give you a recap of all such important stories, here are the top five bike updates from the last week.
Bajaj Pulsar 125 split seat variant launch
After we revealed the price of the new Pulsar 125 split seat variant, Bajaj has now officially announced its launch. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs 79,091. For the extra premium it demands over the standard variant, you get a sporty split seat setup, split grab rails, engine cowl and graphics similar to the Pulsar 150. Rest of the aspects of the bike remain identical to the disc brake variant which costs Rs 74,494.
Triumph refreshed its portfolio by launching the new Tiger 900 range in India. The British bike maker has brought three variants in the country including GT, Rally and Rally Pro which are priced at Rs 13.70 lakh, Rs 14.35 lakh and Rs 15.50 lakh, respectively. While the GT is a road-biased model, the Rally and Rally Pro are adventure-oriented versions. A successor to the Tiger 800 series, this model is electronically more advanced, gets revised hardware and is powered by a larger 888cc, in-line three engine. Moreover, it is also more compact and edgy on the cosmetic front.
Ampere Vehicles has added a new offering to its EV line-up, the Magnus Pro. Priced at Rs 73,900, it is the most expensive model in the manufacturer’s portfolio. It is propelled by a 1.2kW motor which draws power from a 60V,30Ah lithium-ion battery. It is claimed to deliver a range of 70-80km while the top speed stands at 55kmph. The feature list comprises of LED DRL, anti-theft alarm, remote keyless entry, digital display and a USB charger.
Jawa Standard, Forty-Two BS6 start arriving at dealerships
The BS6-compliant models of the Jawa Standard and Forty-Two have started arriving at dealerships. Following the BS6-bound changes, both the bikes have witnessed a marginal drop in their power output. The 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine churns out 26.1bhp and 27.05Nm. Furthermore, the Standard and Forty-Two have become more expensive over their BS4 counterparts. While the former is priced between Rs 1,60,300-1,74,170, the latter costs from Rs 1,73,164 to Rs 1,83,170.
Honda has teased the arrival of the BS6 model of its 125cc scooter, the Grazia. As can be interpreted from the video, it will boast of a sportier styling over the BS4 model while the features will also be more advanced. Powering the new Grazia will be the same engine which does duty on the Activa 125 Fi. It is a 124cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected mill which produces 8.1bhp and 10.3Nm. Meanwhile, the cycle parts are likely to remain unchanged.
