The last week was quite special for us and our readers as we exclusively broke the details of TVS’ upcoming 125cc offerings. We also revealed the expected India launch timeline of the 2021 KTM RC 125. Now, following our Sunday ritual, we bring you a round-up of the top five two-wheelers stories from the last week.
Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid launch
After unveiling the new Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid a few weeks back, Yamaha has finally launched the scooter in India. It is available in three variants; two with different braking setups (drum/disc) and a Street Rally trim that gets a few cosmetic add-ons. The main highlight of the new Ray ZR 125 is the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) System comprising an electric motor for providing extra boost while accelerating from a standstill.
Ducati Supersport 950 BS6 launch
Ducati brought in the new BS6-compliant version of the Supersport 950 in India. The fully-faired motorcycle is available in a standard and an S trim that are priced at Rs 13.49 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh, respectively. There aren’t any major changes in the bike, except for the engine that emits cleaner gases now. Bookings for the bike have already commenced and deliveries will begin soon.
Moto Guzzi has launched its middle-weight adventure tourer, the V85 TT, for the first time in India. The bike has been pegged at Rs 15.40 lakh. It is powered by an 853cc, 90-degree, V-twin engine that produces 75bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 82Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm. The cycle parts are meant to take on different types of terrains while the feature list is decent with the availability of five riding modes.
Exclusive: New TVS 125cc launches
Our sources revealed that TVS is gearing to introduce two new 125cc offerings including a scooter and a motorcycle. The scooter will be called the Jupiter 125 and similar to its existing 110cc version, will essentially be an everyday family scooter. Meanwhile, the motorcycle is likely to be called the Fiero 125 and it will be a commuter with a sporty touch. It will mostly take on the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125.
2021 KTM RC 125 coming this month
KTM recently unveiled the next-generation 2021 models of its fully-faired bikes, the RC 125, RC 200 and the RC 390. Notably, the smallest 125cc iteration of the RC is expected to be launched in India this month. The RC 125, similar to its bigger siblings, has been updated on all fronts including design, ergonomics, hardware and features. Even the price is likely to go up substantially over the existing bike.
