The last week was quite eventful for the Indian two-wheeler industry. Besides two major launches taking place, a couple of upcoming models were spied ahead of their debut. In case you missed these updates, here’s a round-up of the top five of them.
TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect variant launch
TVS launched the new Raider 125 SmartXonnect variant with Bluetooth connectivity. Now, the 125cc commuter is available in a total of three models: Drum, Disc, and SmartXonnect. While the design of this trim is unchanged, it is equipped with a TFT console with Bluetooth which gives you access to calls, SMS, notifications, voice assistance, and other updates. It even gets turn-by-turn navigation which is a first in this segment.
Ola Electric has launched its newest electric scooter, the S1 Air, in India. It’s the most affordable product from the brand with an introductory price tag of Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom including FAME II subsidy). The Air iteration boasts several changes over the S1 and S1 Pro. Propelling the S1 Air is a smaller 4.5kW hub-mounted motor and the battery pack is also an undersized 2.5kWh unit which is claimed to have an IDC range of 101km. As for its top speed, Ola says it can touch 90kmph.
Ultraviolette has revealed new details of its yet-to-be-launched electric motorcycle, the F77 which has seen a series of changes over the model showcased in 2019. The company has worked on the battery’s thermal management and amped up the density too. The aluminum-encased pack now houses 21,700 cells instead of 18,650 cells in the prototype. The capacity for the F77’s top-end variant is now rated at 10.7kWh giving it an IDC claimed range of 307km. For more details on the F77, click on the story link.
Next-gen Bajaj Pulsar 150 spy shots
The next-generation Bajaj Pulsar 150 was spotted again, but this time in an almost production-ready form. The biggest change it has gone through is on the design front which is in line with the new-age Pulsar family. While the engine is likely to be the same 150cc unit as the existing trim, there might be some internal changes to tweak the character. It should also get additional features. The rest of the details about the bike will only be known closer to the launch.
The KTM 890 Adventure R was recently spotted in India near Bajaj’s Chakan facility for the first time. While this could be an indication of the 890 Adventure R’s imminent launch, there’s also a possibility that the brand imported it just for a showcase at the upcoming motorcycling event, 2022 India Bike Week. Nevertheless, the thought of the 890 Adventure R going on sale in India truly excites us.
