Following our Sunday ritual, we are back with our round-up of the most significant two-wheeler updates of the week. It was quite an interesting week considering we witnessed a variety of launches including that of the Yamaha Aerox 155 special edition and a litre-class super naked, the BMW M 1000 R.
Yamaha Aerox 155 MotoGP edition launch
Yamaha launched the 2023 Monster Energy MotoGP Edition of the Aerox 155 in India. The special iteration is priced at Rs. 1,48,300, and features the Yamaha MotoGP livery on its bodywork. Additionally, it comes equipped with class D headlamps, which offer improved light distribution and enhanced visibility. Besides the new livery and improved illumination, the Aerox 155 MotoGP edition remains as the same other variants.
Yamaha also widened the colour palette of the FZ-S FI V4 by introducing two new shades – Dark Matte Blue and Matte Black. Both paint schemes will be sold alongside the existing trims offered by the brand – Metallic Black, Matte Grey and Majestic Black. Apart from the new colours, the FZ-S V4 remains as it was before. The asking price of the Yamaha FZ-S FI V4 in the new colours is Rs. 1,28,900.
BMW Motorrad launched its top-of-the-shelf super naked, the M 1000 R, in India. It’s essentially the naked version of the homologation special M 1000 RR sportbike which is derived from the brand’s WSBK machine. With a power output of 212bhp on tap and ample usage of carbon fibre for its bodywork, the M 1000 R is the epitome of exclusivity. It is available in standard and Competition variants priced at Rs. 33 lakh and Rs. 38 lakh, respectively.
Triumph Scrambler 400 X teased
Triumph launched the Speed 400 in India a couple of months ago and is all set to debut the equally anticipated Scrambler 400 X in the country soon. The brand recently teased the launch of the motorcycle on its social networks. As the name suggests, it’s the scrambler version of the Speed 400 with plenty of alterations. While the pre-bookings for the new Scrambler 400 X were already open on Triumph’s India website, the pricing is expected to be slightly higher than the Speed 400’s Rs 2.23 lakh price tag.
Harley-Davidson X400 deliveries
Hero MotoCorp announced that it will commence the deliveries of the Harley-Davidson X440 on 15 October 2023 in India. Moreover, the new booking window for the motorcycle will open on 16 October. It can be booked through all Harley-Davidson showrooms across India and select Hero MotoCorp outlets. Hero had unveiled the X440 in July this year and the company says it received over 25,000 bookings in the first month itself. To cater to the first set of customers, bookings had to be temporarily closed.
