The last week was majorly about the introduction of new products in the Indian market. While Ducati brought in two BS6-updated models, Royal Enfield and Yamaha revealed their plans regarding their upcoming offerings. For those who couldn’t stay up to date with these stories last week, here’s a quick low down for you.
Ducati Panigale V4 BS6 launched
Ducati launched the new 2021 edition of its litre-class sportsbike, the Panigale V4, in India. The motorcycle’s 1,103cc V4 motor is now compliant with the new BS6 emission norms. There are other changes too like the addition of new aerodynamic winglets that are claimed to deliver 30kg of downforce at 270kmph. It is available in two variants in India – standard and S that are priced at Rs 23.50 lakh and Rs 28.40 lakh, respectively.
Ducati Diavel 1260 BS6 launched
Another new entrant from Ducati is the BS6-compliant edition of the Diavel 1260. The 1,262cc, L-twin motor of the power cruiser now emits cleaner gases and produces 159.7bhp of power and 129Nm of peak torque. Similar to the Panigale V4, the Diavel too comes in a standard and an S model that are differentiated by a varying hardware package. While the former is priced at Rs 18.49 lakh, the latter is more expensive at Rs 21.49 lakh.
Yamaha sent out an invite last week for a virtual launch to be held on 18 June, 2021. It’s likely to be that of the new FZ X. The modern-retro offering has been spied a couple of time before revealing a lot of details. It’s evidently based on the existing FZ S FI naked street bike but adorns old-school clothing similar to the highly popular XSR155. During a recent conference call, one of Royal Enfield’s top honcho confirmed that they have plans to launch multiple products this year in India. In fact, 2021 will witness the highest number of launches from the bike maker in a single year. It has registered several new model names recently including the Scram, Sherpa and Hunter and these could be some of the bikes to see the light of the day in 2021 itself.
CFMoto has commenced the deliveries of the 300NK in India which is currently the only BS6 model in the brand’s line-up. The BS6 300NK was launched in March this year with a price tag of Rs 2.29 lakh that’s identical to its BS4 iteration. The motorcycle features an athletic and edgy design with premium hardware. It is powered by a 292.4cc, liquid-cooled engine that makes 33.5bhp and 20.5Nm. It competes against the KTM 390 Duke and the BMW G 310 R.
