Delivery daily commute issues and overall review
1 year ago

I own the sleet black version bsvi with tripper,This bike took around a month to deliver, during the expected delivery date, the showroom guys kept saying "we can't deliver it today cause of this and that and rto wants this and that" for around 2 weeks with my bike in the showroom, after which the day of delivery it took around 7 hours for my bike to get delivered cause of paper work, then they didn't tell us how to ride it in break in period so i had to google half the stuff myself, for me [6'4], bike is comfortable and very nice but for my father [5'7/5'6], he struggles a bit in traffic to keep his feet down and keep the bike balanced, bike does feel heavy when riding in bumper to bumper traffic but glides like a weightless cloud on highways, i commute from dense delhi traffic to dense noida traffic for work daily and instead of watching over my fuel consumption or time taken for the route i prefer a comfortable no traffic route over short route with traffic in it, the bike **definitely** catches a eye or two from people because its so big but lacks power big time on expressway, The tripper stops working once your phone battery is below 10%, i noticed some other issues like rear breaks squealing or noise coming from front end, finishing of bike isn't up to par and its chugging fuel like a depressed person with drinking problems, still despite of this I love my bike and every morning I feel like a kid with new bike who just wants to sit on it and ride it for hours.

My Experience with Royal Enfield Himalayan

When it comes to Buying, you will be treated like a princess before and during booking, You will have to wait at least a month before you receive your bike, the bike is heavy and can take some time to get used to, I commute daily roughly 80 km on it and Im 6'4, No back pain or any pain what so ever, It can perform in traffic but you will struggle a lot with the heating of engine, one can cook an egg in no time over the engine once the engine has covered 100m, torque makes up for the missing horsepower in my opinion, as of now I had 2 scheduled servicing and one small visit to service centre after another biker crashed into me, 1st service cost around 1.5k, second cost a bit more, the unscheduled visit cost me around 2k just for a footpeg, the pros are that you will catch a lot of eyes on the road, it's comfortable on any road once you are used to it, cons for me are, the seat slope can be annoying, the rear seat can be annoying too, my mother can't ride my bike simply cause she has to hike up to the seat, the engine heat and the exhaust turning purple from crome is sad but it will happen regardless of how much you try, I'd suggest anyone buying the bike to pre-inspect the bike before delivery because royal enfield some times does a very lousy job when it comes to finishing, I already lost a loose bolt and my rear seat storage can be filled with water during rain, Kind Regards and Safe Riding

Tips for other riders
Get your types converted to tubeless if you don't do offroad, Get better mirrors for your bike as royal enfield once are a bit small, Seat can also be changed for comfort, Use good crash guard from good company, lever guard are a must,
