I have been riding this bike for months but for regular purposes like office going It will hit you hard with petrol expenses, we Indians, in the end, want city mileage of 40 kmpl approx. Everything is good in this bike like offroading, racing, etc but when it comes to city mileage it gives you around 20 to 24 kmpl which hurts a lot

  • Himalayan 450: The Ultimate Adventure Companion"

    Himanker Pariya

The Himalayan 450 has become instantly popular with adventure lovers, who just cannot seem to get enough of the “hot” bike. With its rugged aesthetics and dirt-busting power, it is perfect for touring, both on-road and off-road.
Cosmetically, the Himalayan 450 makes a good first impression, standing out for its solid structure and contemporary looks. The bike’s chassis is excellently housed and well proportioned in a way that instills confidence and there is also an accommodating seating position that would be well suited for tough long rides. The new LED headlamps are powerful and brighten the road ahead, making night rides more secure.
A 450 cc engine powers the Himalayan 450 and it is one of the smoothest revving engines around. What is more, the torque output makes it easy to ride on mountains too, and is therefore very approachable to old and new riders. The sixth gear gets timely changes without any noticeable hitch that overextends the riding mood.
Where it wows the most is the suspension system. The long travel front and rear suspension are great for controlling the motorcycle over bumps, dips, and even in treasure-seeking activities where there are plenty of obstacles and the high ground clearance allows these activities to be performed easily. Besides, the motorcycles are made of light materials, and therefore they are easy to control allowing one to take corners and dark vague twisting mountains or rocky trails.
In terms of technology, the Himalayan 450 models have a modern risk romano of assault rifles and a digital meter as a feature that provides appropriate functionality.

    Harsh

The buying experience is good it has a long waiting time of around 2 to 3 months. The best part of this bike is the riding experience after 1st service you definitely gonna love this machine. The side and back look are awesome but the front look is average performance is also good after 3000rpm it doesn't feel like any royal Enfield bike. its main cons are very bad build quality. and the joystick is not enjoyable for sure. The overall bike is awesome.

    Mokshith V

    Practicality
With a 17-litre fuel tank, the bike boasts a range of around 450 km, making it perfect for long rides without frequent fuel stops. The center stand is handy for maintenance, and the crash bars around the tank provide added protection. The USB charging point is a thoughtful addition to keeping your devices powered on the go.
    Drawbacks
One minor gripe is the rear brake, which feels a bit too sensitive. It takes some getting used to, especially on loose surfaces where it can lock up if not applied carefully.
    Verdict
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a solid upgrade from its predecessor. It combines the rugged charm of the original with modern enhancements that make it more capable and versatile. Priced expectedly between ₹5-6 lakh, it offers great value for adventure enthusiasts in India. Whether you’re commuting daily or planning a trip to the mountains, the Himalayan 450 is built to handle it all with ease and style.

    Shivam Gangwar

Got my Himalayan 450 on March 29, 2024, from Uma Riders Ghaziabad after waiting for almost 45 days. The team at Uma Riders was superb in helping me out with the booking and also the delivery presentation was amazing.
Being a 5.7 feet person seat height was a bit problem in the Beginning especially when taking the bike out of the parking or reversing it on inclined surfaces, so have to chop the seat foam by around 15 mm Apart from that everything is so good about this bike. The power and punch that I am getting from this new engine are superbly amazing, yes there is some vibration in the engine but they don't bother me much, and extremely comfortable on long rides.
No doubt the bike looks like a mini Triumph tiger and performs also like the one. it's a head turner especially after some modifications that I did on my Himalayan 450, if you want you can check them out on my YouTube: Motorhead Shivam.
Being a Bajaj owner before I got my Himalayan I can say the service arrangement and the procedure is far better and feels premium here at Royal Enfield. Maintaining a Royal Enfield is not a big task because of the wide service reach and spare part availability in the open market.
    Pros :
    1 . Looks
    2 . Engine refinement & power
    3 . Suspension setup
    4 . Excellent braking system
5 . All new instrument clusters.
    Cons :
1 . Poor heat management, very difficult to ride in city traffic in summer.
2 . The headlight is very dim and useless on the highway.
    3. GPS navigation system of the instrument cluster, is simply useless as you have to keep your phone screen on all the time.

The buying experience is free the riding experience is also good and the new 2024 model is something that I didn't expect from Royal Enfield they did a great job and I like the tuning of the bike it does look like a monster standing on a road and moreover it's good for hilly areas. The liquid cooling engine simply helps a lot when the bike runs on the road it feels like something is divine the bike mileage is very good according to the status of Royal Enfield on the road. I am not surprised that Himalayan is so good and it will always be my favorite bike in the segment.

  • Stay away from Himalayan 450

Please do not buy this trash. Those who already bought, I wish they were not facing what I am going through. The bike instrument cluster & its switches are not working within 15 days of the purchase.
The options and settings are getting changed automatically including the ABS on off. trip value is getting reset by its own. The joystick, home button & mode change button are behaving weirdly. everything is getting selected or deselected on its own without touching the buttons.
I have videos and shared the same with RE team but they are not able to rectify the problem, Neither able to change the switch module.
Now they keep my new bike in their service centre & do all experiments with my bike.
No proper response or justification from RE team. Such poor materials and products they are using for new Himalayan.
Shame on RE. My purchase and money are in waste.
Dropped so many emails, but still no proper resolution.
if you have already purchased, I wish you good luck so that you do not experience such poor service. If you are planning to buy a new Himalayan, kindly drop the plan immediately & go for some other bike.
Himalayan 450 is a disaster from RE team.

  • Conquer Every Trail: A Comprehensive Review of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

    Navneet Singh

    1) Buying Experience
Purchasing a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is generally a positive experience, thanks to Royal Enfield’s expansive dealership network and customer service focus. Showrooms are designed to provide a welcoming atmosphere, often reflecting the brand’s heritage and adventure ethos. Sales representatives are typically knowledgeable and passionate about the bikes, which helps potential buyers make informed decisions.
Customers can expect the following steps during the buying process:
Initial Inquiry: Visiting a dealership or contacting them online provides access to detailed information about the Himalayan 450. Test rides are readily available and recommended to get a real feel for the bike.
Financing and Offers: Royal Enfield offers various financing options through its partnerships with financial institutions. Seasonal offers, discounts, and trade-in options may also be available.
Customization: Buyers can customize their Himalayan 450 with a range of official accessories and gear, tailored to enhance the adventure touring experience.
Purchase and Delivery: The purchase process is straightforward, with paperwork handled efficiently. Delivery timelines are usually reliable, with the bike often arriving pre-checked and ready to ride.
    Riding Experience
The Himalayan 450 excels in providing a balanced riding experience. The enhanced power from the 450cc engine makes highway cruising more enjoyable while still maintaining the low-end torque needed for off-road adventures. The upright riding position, comfortable seat, and ergonomic handlebar design make long rides less fatiguing. The suspension setup absorbs bumps and uneven surfaces effectively, ensuring stability and comfort on various terrains.
    2) Riding Experience
The Himalayan 450 excels in providing a balanced riding experience. The enhanced power from the 450cc engine makes highway cruising more enjoyable while still maintaining the low-end torque needed for off-road adventures. The upright riding position, comfortable seat, and ergonomic handlebar design make long rides less fatiguing. The suspension setup absorbs bumps and uneven surfaces effectively, ensuring stability and comfort on various terrains.
    3)Specifications Details and Features
The Himalayan 450 comes equipped with a newly developed 450cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, producing around 40 horsepower and 35 Nm of torque. This upgrade provides a noticeable boost in performance, especially in off-road conditions. The bike features a six-speed gearbox, improving highway cruising capabilities.
    Key features include:
Long-travel suspension: Upside-down front forks and a mono-shock rear suspension ensure a comfortable ride over rough terrain.
Advanced electronics: A TFT display with smartphone connectivity, navigation, and multiple riding modes (road, off-road, and rain) offer modern conveniences and improved rider control.
Dual-channel ABS: Switchable ABS for the rear wheel enhances safety while allowing off-road maneuverability.
LED lighting: Both the headlamp and tail lamp are LED, providing better visibility and modern aesthetics.
Luggage mounting points: Integrated mounts for panniers and top boxes make it easy to carry gear for long journeys.
    3) Servicing and maintenance
Royal Enfield has made strides in improving the reliability of their motorcycles, and the Himalayan 450 is no exception. Regular maintenance, such as oil changes, air filter cleaning, and chain lubrication, is straightforward and essential for ensuring the bike's longevity. The recommended service intervals are typically every 5,000 to 6,000 kilometers.
Royal Enfield’s extensive service network ensures that finding a qualified mechanic is relatively easy. Most service centers offer comprehensive maintenance packages that cover routine checks and necessary adjustments. The availability of genuine parts and accessories is generally good, although it’s wise to order ahead for less common components.
However, as with any new model, it's advisable to keep an eye on any recall notices or updates from the manufacturer during the initial ownership period. Regularly checking and updating the bike's software (if applicable) is also crucial for maintaining optimal performance.
    4)Pros and Cons
    Pros:
    Powerful and responsive 450cc engine
    Advanced electronics and rider aids
    Comfortable ergonomics for long rides
    Excellent off-road capability
    Robust build quality
    Cons:
    Heavier compared to some competitors
    Limited color options
Initial price higher than the 411 model
Slightly higher maintenance costs due to advanced features
    5)Comparison with other similar bikes
When compared to similar adventure bikes in the market, such as the KTM 390 Adventure and the BMW G 310 GS, the Himalayan 450 holds its own. The KTM 390 Adventure offers a slightly sportier performance with its higher reviewing engine and lighter weight, while the BMW G 310 GS provides a more premium feel with its fit and finish. However, the Himalayan 450 stands out with its rugged build, superior off-road capability, and the brand's distinct charm.
    6)Final Verdict
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a commendable upgrade from its predecessor, offering a well-rounded package for adventure enthusiasts. Its combination of power, modern features, and off-road prowess makes it a strong contender in the mid-capacity adventure bike segment. While it may have some minor drawbacks, the overall experience and capability it offers make it a worthy choice for anyone looking to explore the roads less traveled. The buying experience further enhances its appeal, ensuring a smooth transition from showroom to the great outdoors. Regular servicing and maintenance, facilitated by Royal Enfield’s extensive network, ensure that the bike remains reliable and ready for any adventure.

    Nikhil Bhardwaj

  • Stylish and comfortable but not good for regular city ride (like in delhi traffic)

    Nikhil Bhardwaj

  • Lovely and surprising engine from royal Enfield.

  • RE Himalayan 450
