The Himalayan 450 is all set to join the Royal Enfield stable in the next few months, and the Raid will be its more off-road-focused iteration. This will be based on an all-new 450cc platform that RE has been rigorously testing in all kinds of riding conditions for a long time now.
As per our information, the Himalayan 450 Raid will act as a preview of the likes of the competition bike that RE is preparing for the Dakar Rally. Hence, it will be a more extreme version of the standard Himalayan 450 in terms of hardware, engine performance, and dimensions. It will also be more premium in terms of pricing and will be launched way after the standard version’s debut.
While we don’t have the exact specifications of the Himalayan 450 Raid, the standard version will most likely be capable of producing around 40bhp and 45Nm. The wheel sizes will be the same as the existing Himalayan 411 which includes a 21-17-inch spoke wheel combination with dual-purpose tyres. Furthermore, it will also be the most technologically advanced REs yet, with goodies like ride-by-wire, riding modes, and a fully-digital instrument cluster. Some premium accessories like heated grips, different handlebars, and varying luggage options could also be a part of the package.
Royal Enfield is likely to launch the Himalayan Raid 450 around 2025-26, while the standard trim should arrive this year, 2023.
