It is one of the few motorcycles in the country that managed to get a successful launch tag.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Colours & Design
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is sold in India in seven colours – black, blue, pearl, red with black, red, green and chrome. The Interceptor 650, with its retro looks, comfortable seat and twin exhaust, makes it extremely attractive. The overall design language isn't too modern, and maybe that is why the bike looks stunning. For the first time, Royal Enfield has equipped the Interceptor with LED headlights and alloy wheels. The bike also gets revised switchgear and is now offered with a GPS system.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Mileage & Performance
The Interceptor 650 returns a fuel efficiency of anything between 25kmpl and 30kmpl. The Interceptor has, at its heart, a BS6-compliant, fuel-injected 648cc parallel twin air/oil-cooled motor that generates 46.8bhp and 52Nm. It feeds the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox and chain drive.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Specifications & Features
The Interceptor has, at its heart, a BS6-compliant, fuel-injected 648cc parallel twin air/oil-cooled motor that generates 46.8bhp and 52Nm. It feeds the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox and chain drive. The chassis, brakes and suspension are all modern-feeling, with all the charm their retro looks offer. The brakes are single discs at both ends, with a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. ABS is standard. The suspension has conventional forks at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear, with preload adjustment. Instrumentation is also retro, with a twin-pod cluster housing, an analogue speedo and a tachometer, with a small digital pod offering information about the fuel level, odometer and two trip meters. In terms of pricing, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 competes with the KTM 390 Duke. But when it comes to overall specs, it comes very close to the Kawasaki Z650.

Bought the bike in 2020 and it's been a blast these last 30k km. I not only ride it in the city to go to the office and go for weekend rides but have also traveled to Tarkarli and Goa from Mumbai. Service costs and consumables are reasonable. Very comfortable bike and hasn't given me any issues as such. The only grouse I have with my bike is that the suspension isn't the best for the degrading roads of our country but not sure if I should blame the bike or the government for that. The changes I have made are - Handlebar riserRE touring seat for InterceptorPillion leg rest extenderDon't think I need to upgrade my bike to a new one as Royal Enfields are extremely customizable and some people are doing amazing things...so let's see where my biking journey takes me.

Interceptor is a straightforward bike

I have been part of the Royal Enfield family for more than 20 years. Earlier I had Thunderbird and now it's been more than 5 years with Interceptor. Interceptor is a straightforward bike. It is easy to handle, has minimal maintenance issues, and its pickup is among the best. The mileage is a bit less. It's in the 20s but I don't have any complaints regarding thatThe company-fitted seat is ok but you can get that upgraded by replacing it with Royal Enfield's custom seats. Those are great. To summarize, it's a great bike for every season and every road. Either you ride in the city or go for a long ride.

The way it rides man you will fall in love with it. Might be heavy for new users but you get used to it. The engine just gets hot so fast but that's because of the 650cc engine. The weight balance is also great and one loves to ride it. The smoothness and the power are just great I ride it safe at 80-85 but as a new rider, one can push to 150 easily.

This bike is an absolute beast. Excellent work by Royal Enfield. If you ride decently it gives 25 milage. You can have a better experience with it before going to any top-end bike.

Excellent value for money bike

The buying experience was good, not much hassle. Coming to the riding pleasure, it stands out in the power and smoothness segment. There is just enough power to stay engaged. The only issue is the seat, it's not that comfortable. The bike looks almost perfect as a retro motorcycle from all angles. Service is slightly costlier, especially the brake pads they are damn expensive. Pros- Good power, looks, and value for money. Cons- seat comfort and mileage

Quality issue
Manjunath Reddy
Worst quality. chassis broke within 6 months. service center guys refuse to replace the chassis as it has a saddle. how come a touring bike can go for rides without a saddle? And the company doesn’t have that. Next comes the battery issues. The battery is not getting charged. Replaced with a new one and the very next day it was dead again.Hats off to RE service They even don’t know what the problem is.

Budget friendly but compromised on comfort & other stuff
2 years ago
Abhiram R
Got this bike in Feb'22, Chennai. Was riding RE Electra for 8 yrs. Pros - Refined engine and good power & torque, twin cylinder for this budget, Buying experience were good. Cons - Definitely not for daily use due to heaviness. I feel Electra was a lot better in terms of rider triangle, comfort, and availability of spares, and accessories. Feels cramped. No alloy wheels or tubeless tyres. Average instrument cluster. Even touring seats are very hard.

Worst bike

The bike is good for riding but almost most of the days' bike was in showroom due to lots of complaints. I owned this machine for 3 years and I had changed the fuel pump, back shock absorber - 2 times, petrol tank due to rusting inside, consent and bearing 2 times, relays, and meter console. The interesting fact is the showroom people can't even identify the issues and they were simply switching things. Within 10k km all these issues I had faced and I am fed up going to their showroom and most of the things are out of stock and I had to keep my bike there for months. After my third year, I came to extend the warranty and they were not ready to extend it saying I have not completed my third service then I showed them the bill they gave me for the third service but they were not ready to extend the warranty saying it's not updated in their computer. So I sold this bike for less than the market price. This was my first RE bike and I will never buy an RE bike anymore due to bad after-service and worst quality. Avoid RE because their main source of income is not from selling bikes but from the no of times that we go to the showroom for their bike repairs.

Why you do this re
Jadu
Price is high, should not go beyond 3.5, and why plastic mudguards !!!! and why your engine is so big? even if it's 650 could have designed it a bit better. Bigger looks good but needs to watch your feet, and why no tubeless tyres , what are you thinking when you are putting tube tyres in a heavy bike. Oil gauge !!! my god re is a 100-year-old bike manufacturer and they have this one faulty, pity you guys.

Perfect bike for garage not roads.

I bought this bike 2 months back. Since then I am fixing one thing or the other. It has stayed dead or in service center for half of the time. I should have bought a Honda. If you want a reliable bike royal Enfield is the last brand you should look at. Battery issue (charged it twice then bought a new Exide battery from company then that also died), twitchy throttle response, clicking noise from rear shocker, problem with instrument cluster, turning off on high rpm. But I am happy to say this bike is the only problem in my life.

Just replace the bike parts with after market products as soon as they fail don't worry they fail very often. Because the bike is made like a rusty gun but the engine is smooth.
