Suzuki Burgman Street Electric is expected to launch in India in December 2024 in the expected price range of ₹ 1,05,000 to ₹ 1,20,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to Burgman Street Electric are Lectrix LXS 3.0, Odysse Racer & Odysse Trot. Another bike similar to Burgman Street Electric is Honda Activa Electric which is launching in November 2024 in India.
Suzuki is readying itself to enter the Indian electric two-wheeler market with the electric version of its existing Burgman Street 125 petrol-powered scooter. It has been spied a couple of times until now, revealing some details ahead of its official launch.
The test mules of Suzuki’s electric scooter sported the design identical to its ICE counterpart. Everything from the bulbous front apron to the long free-flowing tail section has been retained. The only difference is the white and blue dual-tone colour scheme that’s not available in the conventional scooter.
Technical details of the Burgman Street electric aren’t known yet. It will most likely be a close rival to the likes of the TVS iQube and the Bajaj Chetak. Hence, expect a battery range to be in the ballpark of 60-80km with a similar top speed. It might also be as feature-loaded as its rivals with things like Bluetooth connectivity for pairing it with a smartphone. It remains to be seen if it supports fast-charging and gets battery-swapping functionality.
We expect the price of the Suzuki Burgman Street electric version to be close to the Rs1 lakh mark, maybe even lesser if it’s eligible for the FAME II subsidy.
