Basically, I've been riding this bike for around 5 years ( 30000kms), it is one of the finest 200-plus machines that I've had ( including Duke and fz25 & cbr 250 that I've had in the past).
The bike is given the same mileage for the last 3 years, however, it gives close to 35kmpl on highways. It provides wonderful stability while cornering or riding at high speeds. The riding seat is pretty comfortable but the pillion seat is not.
    Pros- cost efficient
    Value for money.
Low cost & super reliable parts.
    Extraordinary after-sales service.
Wonderful engine, lovable brakes( both front & rear).
    Finest rear suspension.
Cons- design not upto the mark.
    Waiting time for parts.
The front suspension could've been a bit better with usd forks.
That's it, I hope it helps people who are riding the bike or looking to buy a reliable, powerful 250cc.

  • It will do it all but can you?

This is a great all rounder for someone starting out and they do not want anything too intimidating , too flashy or in the face with the design or the tech on offer. This flows under the radar with it's simple design, and somber colours on choice. I've clocked over 48K on the odo covering almost all of uttarakahnd, Amritsar, Indore, Jaipur and many other places on this. I've toured alone with luggage and with a pillion + luggage setup as well. This motorcycle performs flawless in any weather conditions and with basic maintenance and some useful mods like Fog lamps, tail rack, you can greatly increase the usability of the bike. Sure it's not as powerful or tech laden the counterparts, but it's exactly where it shines. It's the Basics done right! It's a delightful riding experience that helps you hone your skill as a motorcyclist and Suzuki has done an amazing job with the tractability of the engine. The bike has never run hot even in the scorching heat of M.P upwards of 47 degrees ( I was travelling from Delhi to Indore). It could use a facelift upgrading to better quality forks and a bigger fuel tank for an increased range, the stock heaadlight unit can be improved by a lot and the aftermarket for it's accessories is a questionable. You'll have to search around a lot if you want something specific to be done but overall it's a great beginner friendly machine for someone just starting out wanting something simple and no nonsense not attracting too much attention or looking for a secondary motorcycle to do the daily runs while being easy on the pocket.
    Pros-
-Bare minimum tech, less things to go wrong
    - Legendary reliability, and easy on the pocket even for students
    - A great way of approaching and overcoming the learning curve
    - Simple design, minimum to no graphic stickering
    - Good FE
    - Good Cruiser for highways and Office runs
    - A simple, fun ,riding machine guaranteed to give you a huge smile on your face
    - Good corner carver, Pegs can seem to scrape but that's all right
    - rock stable even at 120+, inspiring confidence
    Cons-
    - Pricing is a big factor when considering this motorcycle, I feel Suzuki could give a bit more equipment like -
    - better forks ( After clocking 48k on the odo, I wish This bike had bigger and better quality forks for my highway duties)
    - a stronger headlight unit ( I fixed it by installing aftermarket foglamps)
    - LED turn indicators ( swapped the bulbs for LED units in the existing assembly)
    - Bit more info on the speedo like distance to empty or AVG FE ( although I'm good at math but I' m human too)
    - Aftersales support and servicing still needs a huge improvement and also what deters buyers from considering it ( a constant headache as mechanics are not well trained )
    - With the new emission norms, fuel tank needs to be increased to 13-14 L compared to the existing 12. ( range is on par with the other motorcycles of this class, but can be improved upon).
Except for a few niggles, this an absolutely fantastic piece of engineering and I would gladly recommend anyone willing to live with a few trade offs and who wants a genuine riding experience with not too much drama, this bike will do it all and will take a beating as well. At the end of the day you decide what you will do with the motorcycle and how it makes you feel.
    Cheers, happy riding folks :)

Please clean and Lube your chain every 10-15 days if you ride an average of 25-30 kms a day. Can upgrade the seat cusions for more comfort. Pay attention to the handlebar and cone set, Suzukis have had the issue with their grease so when getting your cone set greased or replaced, get a castrol or a good wax to use for the application as the one they use gets hard after sometime and you will repeatedly face the issue of your handlebar being too tight. Pay close attention to the handle T and get it inspected every year if you feel your front of the bike not behaving as intended. Clutch cables , break fluids need to be changed as per usage and always be checked for wear and tear. Keep your paperwork watertight ass you might need to call up the Suzuki helpline for servicing issues. You take care of it, it will take care of you.

CHEAP and BAD Quality of bike parts. I accidentally hit a pothole at 80 KMPH and two alloy wheels got bent. Suspension is really hard. The only good thing is the engine and engine only. Not recommended for use in the city or anywhere there are bad roads. Another painful thing is, that you won't get spare parts that easily. You order and God knows when they dispatch the spares to you. Also NEVER go with ICIC Lombard insurance. They are another pain.

The buying experience was smooth and simple, legit all-around best in the 250cc segment, and quite satisfied just a bit on the backfoot on spare parts and service experience in my case.
    Looks:- 4.5/5
Mileage- 30-35 kmpl depending on riding style.
No major problem as of yet. Close to 10k on the odor.
Cons:- expected slipper clutch at this price, no led blinkers at this price, the addition of USD forks would just make this bike stand out a lot!

  • Superb around city, bad for long distances.

    Abhi

Very good bike for commuting and short distances. If you're looking to ride for about 2 hours or more, AVOID this bike because of its horrible seat! I've ridden over 10k km on this and mostly enjoyed it. The fuel efficiency is good @ 35kmpl when riding enthusiastically. When I ride under 75 kmph the mileage is 40 plus. Engine performance is superb and it behaves well. The brakes are adequate and the ABS works well. The suspension is just rugged, hard, and of very average quality. Nothing close to KTMs. The seat design is really bad for long-distance touring. Anything excess of 450 or 500 km a day even on smooth, good roads and you will suffer.

  • A reliable companion for the road

    Sagnik Dey

I have been a proud owner of the suzuki gixxer 250 for over two years, covering more than 16,000 kilometers on various terrains. This bike has proven to be a reliable and powerful companion, offering an exceptional riding experience.
    Performance and power delivery:
The suzuki gixxer 250 impresses with its performance and power delivery. The 250cc engine provides ample torque and acceleration, allowing for quick overtakes and smooth rides on both city roads and highways. The bike maintains stability even at higher speeds, offering a thrilling experience for adrenaline enthusiasts.
    Riding experience:
The gixxer 250 handles exceptionally well, providing confidence and control on different types of roads. Whether navigating through congested city streets or cruising along winding mountain roads, the bike's nimble and responsive nature ensures an enjoyable ride. The suspension setup strikes a good balance between comfort and sportiness, absorbing bumps effectively without compromising the bike's dynamic capabilities.
    Key features and standout characteristics:
One of the standout features of the suzuki gixxer 250 is its sporty and aggressive design, which turns heads wherever i go. The digital instrument cluster provides clear and comprehensive information, including speed, rpm, fuel level, and gear position, ensuring convenience and safety during rides. The led lighting system enhances visibility, both for the rider and other road users.
    Room for improvement:
While the suzuki gixxer 250 offers an overall fantastic experience, there are a few areas that could be improved. The seat cushioning could be slightly softer to enhance long-distance comfort, especially during extended rides. Additionally, the exhaust note, although pleasant, could benefit from a more distinctive and captivating sound.
    Comfort and ergonomics:
The bike's seating position strikes a good balance between sportiness and comfort. During shorter rides, the ergonomics provide a slightly forward-leaning posture, contributing to better control and agility. However, during long rides, the seat could use some extra padding to reduce fatigue and ensure maximum comfort.
    Fuel efficiency:
In terms of fuel efficiency, the suzuki gixxer 250 performs decently. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient bike in its class, it provides a respectable mileage that meets the expectations of most riders. Efficient fuel management and a 12-liter fuel tank allow for decent range before refueling.
    Conclusion:
Overall, the suzuki gixxer 250 has been an exceptional bike for me over the past two years. Its powerful performance, impressive handling, and standout features make it a compelling choice in its segment. Despite a few areas for improvement, such as seat comfort and exhaust note, the bike's reliability and overall riding experience make it a worthy companion for both daily commutes and thrilling adventures.
Would i recommend the suzuki gixxer 250? absolutely! if you are seeking a bike that combines power, agility, and style, the suzuki gixxer 250 is undoubtedly worth considering.

    Shabbir Lokhandwala

    1) waiting period of almost 15 days
    2) ride mostly comfortably in the city as well as on the highway
    3) design is very bulky and sleek from the rear, feels like a fully sports bike, giving the lowest time 0-100 in the segment
4 ) lightweight, easy handling at corners, higher ground clearance, shortest wheelbase
    5) almost 1.2k per service cost includes engine oil at 3-4k km
    6) spare availability may be a major con, a slipper clutch is not available, usd folk should be needed in a premium bike.

  • Gixxer 250 - Long term review

    Arijit Sen

    Bhagat

    Tips for other riders

  • Quite underrated and almost perfect!

    Nilimesh Ray

  • Suzuki trustworthy 1

    Shabbir Lokhandwala

    1) waiting period of almost 15 days
    2) ride mostly comfortably in the city as well as on the highway
    3) design is very bulky and sleek from the rear, feels like a fully sports bike, giving the lowest time 0-100 in the segment
4 ) lightweight, easy handling at corners, higher ground clearance, shortest wheelbase
    5) almost 1.2k per service cost includes engine oil at 3-4k km
    6) spare availability may be a major con, a slipper clutch is not available, usd folk should be needed in a premium bike.
