Suzuki Intruder 150 Summary

The Intruder is Suzuki’s 155cc modern cruiser which derives its name as well as styling from the big-daddy M1800R which, among other things, had the widest rear tyre on a production motorcycle when it was launched.

The Intruder shares its powertrain with the Gixxer – a 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled unit. Its BS4 version already had an option of fuel-injection which received a few more engine upgrades to comply with BS6 norms that came into effect on 1 April 2020. These changes resulted in a slight drop in its power figures over the BS4 model which now stand at 13.4bhp at 8,000rpm and 13.8Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.

The 140mm wide rear tyre on this motorcycle gives it a muscular aesthetic appeal and that feeling is echoed when you sit on the motorcycle – those tank extensions make the Intruder feel a whole lot wider than it is, and it thus feels like a whole lot more motorcycle as well. The seat is also a lot wider than a standard seat, but it is very low as well, offering confidence and comfort to the cruiser aficionado.

The Intruder does look odd from certain angles – that tail lamp and surround echoes the lines of the GSX1300R Hayabusa, but most people will not pick that bike for design inspiration, to begin with. The exhaust design looks great from a distance but up close the daylight behind the mesh at the tip doesn’t look good. However, if a modern 150cc cruiser is what you’re looking for, you can’t currently do better than an Intruder on both looks and handling.

The Intruder has three paint options: Silver, Black/Red and Black/Silver. Considering the purpose and displacement of the motorcycle, this Suzuki goes up against the Bajaj Avenger 160 Street.

Suzuki Intruder 150 Review

  • Good Things

    • Agile and nimble riding characteristics
    • Comfortable riding stance even for short riders
    • Rev-friendly motor borrowed from the Gixxer
  • Could be Better

    • Too much plastic cladding can look tacky
    • Odd looking tail section doesn’t sync with the front
    • Rear suspension is setup slightly on the stiffer side

BikeWale's Take

An attention seeker, surprisingly eager to attack corners to the point of scrapping footpegs, ergonomics designed keeping in mind the average height of Indian buyers and a beautiful motor that is always willing to be throttled to the max rpm. While looks are subjective, it is one of the few chinks in the armor that the Suzuki Intruder 150 has to deal with. Overall, a good cruiser motorcycle to consider.

Suzuki Intruder 150 Expert Opinion

Street bikes may be all that jazz today, but there are some Indians who have a thing for raked-out front, low saddle height and a motorcycle that is an extension of their personality.

      Diptiman Ray

Super Comfortable Cruise Bike, Dual Disc Brake, BS-VI, Fuel Injection. If you are looking for a long drive then this is for you, The Rider & Pillion also feels comfortable, Bike has a comfortable back rest for the pillion. If you are riding this bike then all the other people who are on the road look at you. This is the USP of this bike. This bike has a rich look.

It's the most amazing bike I ever seen. Mileage and looks of the bike are perfect. I've run the bike for 10000+ km but it's running the same as in 2018. I'm using this bike in the city and village area but the features of the bike are best. I would like to say that Suzuki has to relaunch this bike. I love the look of this bike.

Such a fabulous bike that you never want to get off it. Especially the shockers are amazing. The only downside could be the brightness of the headlight. Absolutely a good one for medium to tall riders. I am still not sure why a kick rod doesn’t exist for this bike.
The bike has a trustworthy back disc brake. Also, the stability and ground clearance is very good. No vibrations at all until 90kmph.

The best thing about the bike is its looks when you are on road it gets everyone's attention from young ones to old.
I like bike pickup while riding and its suspensions are very good as the city I live in does not have good roads.
I have two other bikes from other companies but this bike suspension is the best among all of them.
Servicing this bike costs 1200 -1500 maximum and I always opted an agency for servicing needs
Cons: only one thing can be improved as it costs 1.25lakh+ so must have at least 200cc engine.

      Pawan Kumar Singh

We purchased Suzuki intruder from shiva suzuki dilshad garden Delhi last month. We rode only 1000 km and it is giving problem while engine start. Service center is also pathetic ,they said it will take 5 days for replacement of part. I recommend not to purchase this bike. Parts are not available in service center ,engineers does not have knowledge regarding the bike. Poor service and poor bike.

      Very bad servicing

      Aryan

Servicing in dhanbad is very poor.Suitable for big cities like delhi, mumbai, etc. Shocker bends in a small accident Cheap quality parts and the concern is that they don't have shocker availability to replace They need 2-3 months to replace shocker, But looks are excellent Engine is 155 cc , not so powerful. It reaches top speed upto 100-105 km/ph. Side mirror also broke in a very small accident.

Less than a year had to replace the battery as i was facing problems in self start. If the vehicle is not started for a period of 24-48 hrs, the self wont work and you will have to drag and run to start the vehicle. This is the major concern. Secondly, mileage is not more than 31-32 even after high maintenance.

When purchase the bike, engine was very smooth. But after riding more than 10000km, now engine have very bad sound and vibrations. Suzuki service is worst service with compare to other oem. No solution given by service center. Now i am thinking to sale this bike very soon.... Not recommend to purchase this bike.
