The "No Nonsense" motorcycle.

I took a test ride of the Scrambler 400X today and here's me comparing it to my NS400Z. First of all the engine now you might think both are the derivatives of the same engine and there will not be a whole lot of difference that's exactly how I was thinking before I rode the 400X. it is on another level the NS is no match to what the engine of the 400X does it pulls so effortlessly and just puts a big smile on your face. The engine is super refined and the cherry on top is the exhaust note of the 400X. when you are pushing the bike at high rpms it just roars and the feeling is something that you have to experience yourself to understand. Next up are the brakes. now we all know that Pulsars have tended to have a little bit of brake fade even when it's new right out of the showroom and I am sorry to report that the NS400 is no exception to that...but the brakes on the Scrambler is nice and the front has a good bite to it which makes confident when pushing the bike at higher speeds and the abs works well for city conditions. The suspension is a bit stiff on both the motorcycles but the Scrambler having a longer travel and a bigger wheel feels a little bit more comfortable than the NS400 also the seat on the Scrambler is of much higher quality than what you get on the NS. Now to the looks what I feel is the NS is a bit repetitive in its design with bits looking like you have seen them on the NS200 as well but the Scrambler 400X is fresh in its look and feel and appeals much higher than anything on the market right now with added pride from the "TRIUMPH" badge on the bike. The only thing that I found difficult was to manage the 835mm seat height....with me being 5'8 I was only able to tip-toe it while it was manageable but I would want to get at least the front of my foot down to call a bike comfortable which I can do on the NS rest of it is good and appeals so much that you just want to get one. What I feel is that for ₹3.10 lakhs you can't get anything better for your money. The only two bikes that come close are the Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 ADV but both the bikes are considerably more expensive to buy and also to own. At the end of the day, it is you who'll make the buying decision and I hope this experience of mine helps you in choosing the right motorcycle for you.
