TVS Motor Company made huge waves in the 125cc, premium commuter motorcycle space with the launch of the Raider. This Hosur-based two-wheeler maker's 125cc-class contender competes against the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 and the Honda SP 125 in the Indian market. TVS Motor Company offers the Raider with the option of Drum brakes, single-disc, and Connected tech.
All variants use a 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve engine that produces 11.2bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The motor is paired to a five-speed transmission. The company claims that the Raider can sprint from 0-60kmph in 5.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 99kmph.
The styling cues include a modern design for the LED headlight, body-coloured headlight cowl, body-coloured front fender, split-style saddle, aluminium grab rail, and an engine cowl. This 125cc sporty commuter motorcycle is available in four colour options – Striking Red, Blazing Blue, Wicked Black, and Fiery Yellow.
The standard features on all variants of the motorcycle comprise an LED headlight with integrated LED DRLs, an LED taillight, a five-inch digital display, Idle Stop-Start system, two ride modes (Eco and Power), and generous under-seat storage. The Connected variant further benefits from a colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, and Voice Assist function that works in conjunction with the TVS SmartXConnect system. The Connected variant gets additional functions such as navigation, incoming calls, and message notifications. A USB charger is available as an optional extra.
The suspension setup includes a 30mm telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The brakes on the base version consist of drum units on both wheels. The disc-brake equipped variant has 240mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum unit at the back. CBS or combined braking system is standard on all variants.
The TVS Raider 125 faces competition not only from the above-mentioned Bajaj Pulsar 125 and Honda SP 125 but also from the newly launched Hero Xtreme 125.

SOLD IT OFF

Mukul
I finally exchanged this bike after I couldn't take any more TVS problems and service centre experiences in Dehradun. My daily run was around 120 km I like going places and exploring. I thought of this for Milaeg to save money but ended up losing more bought it in 2022 and sold it in 2024 after 40000kms bought Honda 200cc in exchange for it.It had many problems, gears were so rough engine noise and that tappet noise each time in service told them to do still used to occur again at again. Never missed any service 4 times a year as I had high running. At 23000 km they changed the timing chain and the rear chain set 2000rs for that poor quality chain I don't ride rough lubricated that every 400 km with Motul c1 and c2. Ocassional 80km/hr maximum still it didn't last even 30000km. Timing chain for 1500rs how the hell does it go so quickly? then surprisingly the brake bad set of fron only cost 500 and I don't remember about the rear they were Around 400-500 forgot the exact figures labour excluded not to mention their poor customer handling and service quality issues. I used to buy the AMC for 1200rs useless. And I forgot the tyres. The TVS ramora are the worst pathetic tyres you can ever get they ran pretty fine till 6000rs but then slippy like butter. I maintained the company-recommend tyre pressure at all time 28-32psi still went completely worn around 12000.The only thing it was giving was mileage there I saved some money but sum all up I ended up spending more money instead of saving. The battery gave up after 7 months it took 1 month to change it.Note: all services were done from authorised TVS centres I took time caring for my bike still it didn't hold up well.I have been riding for quite a long now but I wouldn't recommend TVS for good performance and mileage everything after 2-3 months when you are there in services you will probably see for yourself. Also, no parts would be provided to you even if you asked them. They want to charge you for 800rs for the stupid synthetic oil, oil boosters and whatnot. Once they forgot to tighten the front fender bolt there was no bolt after service I reached home and saw that had to find one by myself cause no it's not their problem. Simple chain tightening would not be done properly once they over tightened the right swing arm chain tightener gave the bike to me after I experienced wobbling took it back they took another full day for that and said now I need to change my rockers for tappet noise also they later discovered that the timings tensioner also needs to be replaced. had that big bill and guess what no customer on the bay even sees Wow TVS very well. Don't buy better go for the hero, Honda, Bajaj. Same experience with my Ntroq which is not even a year old before that we had Jupiter all in all TVS disappointed me Ntroq was last TVS thing we would have ever bought never going BACK TO TVS NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE IN DEHRADUN AT LEAST Also forgot to mention about the fibre panel quality after 10000km was horrible all noisy I used to make sure to park the bike in shade in summer but still what can you expect more from thisRIDE SAFE.I LOVED MY BIKE AS IT WAS MY BIKE BUT THE QUALITY WAS NOT UP TO THE MARK THE LOVE FOR ENGINES AND BIKES MADE ME KEEP IT.

Bike start problem by battery
Digpal Singh
My bike did not start twice due to the low battery, since this bike does not have a kick option, it is very difficult to start the bike with a battery. Bike start Problem by battery must be solved. If possible kick option should be given. Otherwise, this bike is not good for a battery start option. Kindly solve this problem in upcoming bikes and running bikes.

One of the greatest mistake of my life to buy this bike
4 weeks ago
Dinesh Gope
Very low mileage in comparison to what the company claimed You have to change the battery after one year because the company uses a very ordinary battery. The break creates a very loud sound. Power is gradually decreased. Very poor performance not comfort for a long journey. High maintenance charges. Chain sprocket issue.

Tvs raider bike service and part
Inderjeet Giri
Whenever you go to service a TVS Rider bike, the service center people will tell you some part or the other that you should change, the bike has run for 2 years and 15000 km, and in that time they have changed many parts. I want to ask the TVS riders why they put such bad-quality parts. On every service, they ask you to change these parts. Both the tires of my bike have been punctured many times. Whenever I get the service done, I lodge some complaint or the other but no complaint is heard. When I got the second last service done, my indicator light was broken. I complained at that time but they did not listen to me or do anything.

Good from outside worst from inside
Shreyash Prajapati
I have had this bike for more than 2 months I used to ride it daily, In the city, it gives mileage between 40-45kmpl. The most irritating thing is its chain and chain sprocket I have changed it and again it makes an irritating noise and because of the open chain dust gets deposited and damages the chain, sensors be like if they want to work they work otherwise Backside mono-shock suspension can't handle weight above 130kg. And last but not least it does not have ABS which can lead to a big accident.

Bike performance and look is very good but didn't meet service expectations
8 weeks ago
Sagar D
I have completed 24000 kms of my bike and writing a genuine review 1. Performance is good because giving good mileage 2. Comfortable only when two people are lightweight.3. Service experience: worst because you have to visit the service center to get the original parts. It's not available in the local market easily like Hero and Honda4. Which one is better: SP Shine or Raider: go with SP Shine because the service experience will be damn good
