5000-15000 km

Got mileage of

37 kmpl

Tvs ntorq 125 was chosen as the "scooter of the year" by the experts recently. So, should i need to say more? i think i should. Why? simply because i own one and i was adamant on writing a review when i hit the 5000km mark. Fyi, this review is strictly personal and i only wrote what i felt about my ntorq. Okay lets start. 1. Buying experience I am a native of kerala and bought the ntorq from a showroom in alappuzha district. The buying experience was nice. No complaints because the staffs were very polite and helpful. I chose the metallic red edition because for me it was the best among the other available options. I got it delivered a fews days later. During the time of delivery, the staff explained to me about the scooter and the long list of features it had. Glove box and floor mat were bought as accessories(also available online). I was a bit skeptical about installing a glove box because usually these additions looks like a misfit to the whole design of the vehicle. But let me tell you something, for me, this is the best looking glove box you can get for a scooter in india. It doesn't feel like a misfit at all and it just looks like the pecs of the iron man. Designers, love you 3000.2. Riding experience One word: exhilarating. Other word: smooth. You'll feel it right from the moment you turn your wrist. A bit of vibrations are normal at lower speeds. But as you go up, the vibrations just disappear and the ntorq shows what its capable of. Overtaking is also a thing of beauty. The sweet sound of the exhaust helps to push even harder. The breaks does the job well. In my 5000km ride, i never had a scare moment due to locked breaks. Touch-wood. Suspension is bit on the stiffer side but doesn't hurt the spine. Long rides to the high ranges like munnar were handled pretty good. Well, every people who are planning to buy a scooter will have this doubt in their minds, "can it take us to ladakh?". I've never been to ladakh on my ntorq. But i've read an article on sunday supplement of a malayalam newspaper(malayala manorama or mathrubhumi), a fews months back. The news was that, two girls rode all the way from kerala to ladakh on their ntorqs. And they never faced an issue whatsoever(which was specifically mention in the article). You will find it if you search for it. Yes, ntorq can take you to ladakh, if you find a way to refuel it every 200kms. 3. Design and performance. The best design for a scooter in india? i think so. The sharp edges and neatly put together panels are a real eye catcher. The riding position is just perfect for all kinds of riders. I'm 5'7" and i can flatfoot fairly. So both taller and shorter riders could manage well. The handlebar is wide enough for long rides. The fat tyres complements the muscular design neatly. The lights are good enough. The drl upfront is very bright. The led tail lamp also looks fantastic. The instrument cluster for a two wheeler at this price range, to be frank, is out of the world. Tbh, i dont even know how many people will use all these features like gps navigation and last parked location on daily basis. But for those who use it, these are very handy. The instrument cluster could be connected with the tvs app using bluetooth. Talking about the performance, the ntorq can reach 0-60 kmph in around 5 seconds which is great for a 125 cc scooter. I find the soft spot is between 65-75 kmph. You can ride all day, in that range, if you are on a straight low traffic highway. No vibrations, low windblast. Plush! top speed of over 95 kmph can be easily achieved if its revved hard. I see a lot of people complaining about the low mileage of the ntorq. I too had that complaint. I got just around 30 kmpl initially. But after the first service, the mileage got improved drastically and since then i am constantly getting around 35-40 kmpl despite frequent hard revving. I personally think if people care more about mileage and less about everything else, they should stick with other less powerful options.4. Servicing and maintenance. My ntorq had 3 services so far. As i said above the mileage increased after first service. No issues with the servicing. It went well. I had this cold start issue and when i told the service guys about it, they told me to keep the scooter away from moist areas and keep it covered. I've done just that and now its okay. 5. Pros and cons: I would've placed the lack of led headlamps and hazard lights in the cons , but as tvs launched the fully equipped ntorq race edition, it doesn't matter. Pros - Great looks Smooth performance Long list of features Sweet exhaust note Good ergonomics Cons - Cold start issues Low mileage compared to other scooters in this price range. I certainly think tvs ntorq 125 is the best 'value for money' scooter you can buy in India. If you are planning to buy a scooter and mileage is not your primary concern, go for it without a second thought. You wont be disappointed. At all.

Tips for TVS Ntorq 125

Cold start could be an issue if you are not a daily rider. Its better to keep the scooter away from moist conditions when not in use.

Within 6 months problems like no self-start working, the fuel injector had to be changed, and now after 25000km running issues like draining Engine oil issue, and Engine parts damage. Don't buy any TVS two-wheeler, especially Ntorq. Even the Service center doesn't have an answer and solution for some problems in Ntorq.

It's a good scooter. The mileage is around 40kmpl. not built for bad roads. The main cons are built quality and spare parts quality. Performance is best with roaring exhaust notes. You have to suffer from body noises while riding with low LED light visibility. Overall 3/5. Not meant for older citizens. Not reliable at all.

In simple words, this is a beast machine, and driving it is awesome. The built quality is really good. I have been riding this scooter for the last five months and have had no issues until now. Talking about mileage, mine gives around 35-40 km, which is good for me, and I love the sound of it. Overall performance is good. The sales team helped me with all the documentation, and the experience was nice. Enjoy riding.

Only buy it if you want to keep it for a year or two. High maintenance, need to change one way every year that costs 2000, got my engine seized with fuel injector after 35000km. The service center made a bill of 15 thousand even scooter was under warranty. I am so fed up with expensive parts and service. The only good thing is performance and satisfactory mileage.

  • I would not recommend buying

    Syed Faraz

    Pros: Good handling and styling.
Cons: Poor quality, and high maintenance costs. I rode my Ntorq for 60000 km after experiencing complete engine damage. I have to replace the accelerator cable every three months due to damage, and I encounter new problems every day. I would not recommend buying a TVS product; consider opting for another company. Please improve the quality of TVS products to avoid wasting money.

  • Excellent Moto-Scooter

I bought the TVS N-Torq Race Edition 2 and half years ago and it is pure joy to ride it. The peppy engine along with fat tyres gives you confidence similar to a motorcycle. The meter console is decent enough and provides all the necessary information at a glance. Ride quality is slightly on the hard side, unlike all other commuter scooters. The front disc is good, back drum brake needs some work. I have also driven it for occasional long-distance rides without a pillion. The mileage is on the lower side 35 to 38 kmpl compared to all other scooters in its segments. TVS Service is not up to mark, as I changed my service center after completing free services.

  • Good styling, average handling, pathetic mileage

    Shekhar Bandaru

Ntorq is one of the best-looking scooters. Performance is great, and the engine note imitating is music to ears.
Handling is disappointing, suspension is poor. Even Yamaha ZR and Hero Maestro are ages ahead on these points.
Now the most painful point is mileage. 4 liters of petrol runs only for 100kms in moderate traffic. I'm in a small town, there is never any traffic jam or slow traffic here. I'm unable to imagine mileage in city traffic with bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Service centers of TVS are universally scam centers. I've moved to 3 towns it's the same problem all over.
My good running Ntorq when I gave for normal service, they stole brake drums and put in old wored out drums which started squeaking from the same day. Even the service charge was 1200 which is high. Loose headlights complaint ignored.
Later after one month, I had with same problems, they charged 2000 saying lot of work, but did not resolve any. Simply said change to new brake drums and change which switches panel. Total cost 3000. Total seamsters.
I would avoid buying a TVS at least to avoid the scam service.

I have been driving this scooter from the past 2 years and no doubt it has been my best scooter till date. It's sporty design and impressive performance makes it best for young riders like me. It's acceleration is also very swift. I think in this range (70-80k) it has the best fuel efficiency. Overall the TVs ntorq 125 is an excellent option and it's the top contenter in the 125cc scooter segment.

  • Running out of money after purchasing it.

    Rohit Rumde

TVS Ntroq has better performance and power than other scooters, it gives you a stylish look. This is good for the young generation. The new Race XP model is awesome. it is very powerful a single cylinder, four stroke, 3 valve. it`s gives you around 40kmpl mileage. the scooter picks up 0 to 60 in just 7 seconds.

  • My Ntorq Xt is just 26000 km running 1.7 years. Now facing Engine issues

    Prasanjit Debnath

Within 6 months problems like no self-start working, the fuel injector had to be changed, and now after 25000km running issues like draining Engine oil issue, and Engine parts damage. Don't buy any TVS two-wheeler, especially Ntorq. Even the Service center doesn't have an answer and solution for some problems in Ntorq.

  • Not bad

    Reetam

It's a good scooter. The mileage is around 40kmpl. not built for bad roads. The main cons are built quality and spare parts quality. Performance is best with roaring exhaust notes. You have to suffer from body noises while riding with low LED light visibility. Overall 3/5. Not meant for older citizens. Not reliable at all.
