I already own a motorcycle and wanted to purchase a scooter for short commutes and also so that my wife can also ride it. After a lot of research and discussions we had shortlisted 2 scooters. Tvs ntorq 125 race edition and Suzuki access 125 and finally decided to purchase ntorq (I will try to explain in the review as to why we went for ntorq against access). 1. Buying experience : I would rate the dealership experience as very bad (supreme tvs- thane) as they do not care about their customers once the booking is done and do not stand by any promises/ commitments given by them at the time of booking. We inquired with 3-4 dealers in thane and Navi mumbai and finally decided to go ahead with supreme tvs (thane) as one of my friend recommend. I visited the showroom and asked about the availability and delivery time frame. Also I informed them that I already have an pre-approved loan from Hdfc. Executive at the dealership assured me that they already have the race edition (red color) in their stock and since I already have a pre-approved loan they will deliver the vehicle to me along with registration in 8-10 days. I paid my part of contribution as booking amount and completed the loan application formalities on the same day. Once the booking amount was paid I started experiencing bad experiences with the dealership. First of all they took 10 days to get the loan sanction and disbursement because of their lack of communication in hdfc representatives. Worst part is they never informed me anything and I had to call them everyday for follow-up. I had to speak to my hdfc relationship manager to get things done and got to know that the delay is because dealership has changed their bank accounts and not providing required details for disbursement, finally after lot of follow-ups for 10 days disbursement was done. Once the disbursement was done I again contacted dealership representative and requested him to complete the registration asap as its already been delayed, to which he very bluntly said it will take another 12-15 days for registration. When I reminded him about his commitment to deliver the vehicle in 10-15 days he said if you want you can take the delivery of your vehicle today (without registration). When I informed him that I am not going to take my vehicle out of showroom without registration he was like there are so many people ride their vehicles without registration. I was again following up for registration with dealer every alternate days and finally received my vehicle almost after 25 days. Even the delivery experience wasn't pleasant, they did not do any celebration and just handed over the scooter to me. I have decided not to purchase any vehicle and not to recommend supreme tvs to any of my contacts. Being in the sales industry I completely understand the challenges faced by seller sometimes, however I did not like the attitude of the dealer for the way things were handled. There was no communication, there was absolutely no efforts to repair/reverse the damage, complete lack of professionalism and customer centric approach. Even there was no feedback call/survey made to customer from tvs's side to understand their buying experience. Suzuki India is way better in terms of their dealership experience and customer service. 2. Riding experience & looks performance etc. : the reasons we decided to go for ntorq as compared to access 125 is because of, 1. Wide 12 inches tyre's at both ends which provides superb ride, handling and comfort (access has 12inches tyre at front and only 10inches at rear. May the reason because they want to promote mileage over safety and riding comfort. Remember their tag line for access? 'kam peeta hai'. 2. Looks, we liked the bold, sporty and aggressive look of ntorq and red color in race edition is a head turner. 3. Tvs smart x onnect with all digital display. However its navigation assist is very poor as they are using mapmyidia which isn't accurate and fast. Navigation suddenly pauses and stops guiding further. 4. We love the way it rides and handles. Cornering is fun and confidence inspiring due to well tuned suspension setup and wider, gripper tyres. 5. Exhaust note is very unique and sporty. 4. Service and maintenance : i did first servicing of my scooter after 1 month and 622 kms on odometer. With my very bad buying experience with supreme tvs thane i decided not to go for servicing with them. I serviced my scooter with speed wheels tvs thane. This time I had a completely different experience with this dealer. Service advisor asked my how the vehicle is running and if i am facing any issues. He also explained me the total service charges in detail. Also promised to return the scooter back on the same day. I received a call from service advisor once the service was done and scooter was ready for pick up. When I reached service center to pick my vehicle I saw the owner of dealership mr. Pawar was present there and was personally speaking to customers, taking feedback about their service experience. I had a good detailed discussion with him and he in fact shared his personal number with me and asked to contact him in case of any issues. I was really happy with this gesture of mr. Pawar and it clearly shows the dedication, seriousness and customer first approach of him. With engine oil, filter replacement, total 1st service cost was 460 Rupees including taxes. Surprisingly, tvs does not have any extended warranty plan for their vehicles. Pros : 1. A great looking scooter. 2. Excellent ride and handling 3. Superb suspension and braking setup. 4. Fun to ride and handles corner with ease. 5. Exhaust note is very sporty and music to ears.
Cons : 1. Navigation assist is not very useful and doesn't work well.
2. I prefer wearing full face ece/dot certified helmets, however there's no proper place/slot to safely lock the helmet, I always have to carry helmet along with me. 3. No extended warranty options offered by TVS.

The scooter is quite good. It has a massive pickup but drinks oil like no other. However, maintenance costs are much higher compared to other scooters in this price range. You will have a guaranteed engine breakdown after 5+ years or over 50000 km. Ntorq is great, but the handle is quite heavy, which makes it difficult in cities. The mileage drop is massive and parts are expensive. I spend around 4000 to 5000 on maintenance costs every 3 Months. Also after long use, the suspensions are not good and need to change. Overall you get performance but at a huge cost.

  • My Ntorq Xt is just 26000 km running 1.7 years. Now facing Engine issues

Within 6 months problems like no self-start working, the fuel injector had to be changed, and now after 25000km running issues like draining Engine oil issue, and Engine parts damage. Don't buy any TVS two-wheeler, especially Ntorq. Even the Service center doesn't have an answer and solution for some problems in Ntorq.

It's a good scooter. The mileage is around 40kmpl. not built for bad roads. The main cons are built quality and spare parts quality. Performance is best with roaring exhaust notes. You have to suffer from body noises while riding with low LED light visibility. Overall 3/5. Not meant for older citizens. Not reliable at all.

In simple words, this is a beast machine, and driving it is awesome. The built quality is really good. I have been riding this scooter for the last five months and have had no issues until now. Talking about mileage, mine gives around 35-40 km, which is good for me, and I love the sound of it. Overall performance is good. The sales team helped me with all the documentation, and the experience was nice. Enjoy riding.

Only buy it if you want to keep it for a year or two. High maintenance, need to change one way every year that costs 2000, got my engine seized with fuel injector after 35000km. The service center made a bill of 15 thousand even scooter was under warranty. I am so fed up with expensive parts and service. The only good thing is performance and satisfactory mileage.

  • I would not recommend buying

    Syed Faraz

    Pros: Good handling and styling.
Cons: Poor quality, and high maintenance costs. I rode my Ntorq for 60000 km after experiencing complete engine damage. I have to replace the accelerator cable every three months due to damage, and I encounter new problems every day. I would not recommend buying a TVS product; consider opting for another company. Please improve the quality of TVS products to avoid wasting money.

  • Excellent Moto-Scooter

    Rohit Rumde

I bought the TVS N-Torq Race Edition 2 and half years ago and it is pure joy to ride it. The peppy engine along with fat tyres gives you confidence similar to a motorcycle. The meter console is decent enough and provides all the necessary information at a glance. Ride quality is slightly on the hard side, unlike all other commuter scooters. The front disc is good, back drum brake needs some work. I have also driven it for occasional long-distance rides without a pillion. The mileage is on the lower side 35 to 38 kmpl compared to all other scooters in its segments. TVS Service is not up to mark, as I changed my service center after completing free services.

  • Good styling, average handling, pathetic mileage

    Shekhar Bandaru

Ntorq is one of the best-looking scooters. Performance is great, and the engine note imitating is music to ears.
Handling is disappointing, suspension is poor. Even Yamaha ZR and Hero Maestro are ages ahead on these points.
Now the most painful point is mileage. 4 liters of petrol runs only for 100kms in moderate traffic. I'm in a small town, there is never any traffic jam or slow traffic here. I'm unable to imagine mileage in city traffic with bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Service centers of TVS are universally scam centers. I've moved to 3 towns it's the same problem all over.
My good running Ntorq when I gave for normal service, they stole brake drums and put in old wored out drums which started squeaking from the same day. Even the service charge was 1200 which is high. Loose headlights complaint ignored.
Later after one month, I had with same problems, they charged 2000 saying lot of work, but did not resolve any. Simply said change to new brake drums and change which switches panel. Total cost 3000. Total seamsters.
I would avoid buying a TVS at least to avoid the scam service.

    Prasanjit Debnath

Within 6 months problems like no self-start working, the fuel injector had to be changed, and now after 25000km running issues like draining Engine oil issue, and Engine parts damage. Don't buy any TVS two-wheeler, especially Ntorq. Even the Service center doesn't have an answer and solution for some problems in Ntorq.

  • Not bad

    Reetam

It's a good scooter. The mileage is around 40kmpl. not built for bad roads. The main cons are built quality and spare parts quality. Performance is best with roaring exhaust notes. You have to suffer from body noises while riding with low LED light visibility. Overall 3/5. Not meant for older citizens. Not reliable at all.

  • Awesome, Stylish, Beast, Nice Scooter

    Shajahan Badsha

In simple words, this is a beast machine, and driving it is awesome. The built quality is really good. I have been riding this scooter for the last five months and have had no issues until now. Talking about mileage, mine gives around 35-40 km, which is good for me, and I love the sound of it. Overall performance is good. The sales team helped me with all the documentation, and the experience was nice. Enjoy riding.

  • Running out of money after purchasing it.

  • Good Performance but comes with cost

    Tejas Jagdale

The scooter is quite good. It has a massive pickup but drinks oil like no other. However, maintenance costs are much higher compared to other scooters in this price range. You will have a guaranteed engine breakdown after 5+ years or over 50000 km. Ntorq is great, but the handle is quite heavy, which makes it difficult in cities. The mileage drop is massive and parts are expensive. I spend around 4000 to 5000 on maintenance costs every 3 Months. Also after long use, the suspensions are not good and need to change. Overall you get performance but at a huge cost.
