A good scooter in it's price range.

It's a good scooter, it deserves every praise it gets. It's good for youngsters. Performance is good for a 125cc but horrible mileage like a 250cc motorcycle, 35-40. If you want it for performance then go for it. No matter what anyone says online, the real mileage is 35-40. I have this scooter and many of my friends own it too, all are getting same mileage. So don't believe anyone who says it gives 50 km/l.

Tvs ntorq 125 review.
Kausik Ghosh
Here in the remote corner of wb where i live in, the tvs showroom is outside the periphery of the main town. It's not their fault. All automobile showrooms have been shifted outside the town. Being a hardened bajaj buff, i first refused to switch to another brand. He insisted on an aprilia sr 150 as his first choice, the only other option inside his cerebrum was tvs ntorq 125. The piaggio showroom here is just a few months old. I feared that long-term ownership experience might be painful. So i surrendered to tvs. And one evening in dec 2018, i went to the local tvs showroom. All the formalities and payments were made. The showroom people were very helpful but they were not yet ready with my ntorq. I was quite irritated. It was already 7.30 pm. So i went down to the delivery & servicing arena on the ground floor to check the fate of my just-paid money. I know these showroom people. Once they get your money in their hands, they would happily forget everything about you and the promised product. And being a language teacher myself, i always quarrel with specially chosen words. So i knew they were going to see a hiroshima in live mode. But i was pleasantly surprised. The particular ntorq meant for my son was found to have an unnoticeable manufacturing defect behind the front apron. They had already brought in a replacement bike and were readying it. That's why they were late. So the buying experience was a+ grade. I didn't really expect such care from the showroom staff. The rest ? well, i have done nearly 2,45,000 km on different bikes and scooters. 150 km up and 150 km down within 4 hours, twice or thrice every week, was just an enjoyable game in my younger days. So the past few months have been full of surprises. Firstly, i didn't expect the exhaust note of ntorq125 is possible for an indian brand to produce. I was always jealous of local benelli owners for their deep exhaust hums. Now i am happy.Next comes the overall performance. Throttle response is excellent. Once again unlikely for a "scooty" made by an indian brand. 0 to 60 is an easy less-than-8-seconds job. I did check it with a stopwatch, myself being seated on the pillion. Going steadily at 80 kmph is no problem at all and you'll feel like your scooter is craving for faster speed. Actually i think ntorq is not at all suitable for first-time cvt scooter buyers. Instead, if you are a regular biker, you will thoroughly enjoy the experience. The bodywork is mostly plastic, but plastics are much thicker than in most other brands. Body rattle, too, is nil. Seating geometry (i dislike using "ergonomics" for anything less than 250 cc) is very very good. Handlebar, you wrists and elbows, your spine and legs, all will be in a comfortably upright set up. Brakes, both f and r, inspire confidence. Literally. Very good also is the chassis-suspension combination. In fact, the chassis being a bit different, together with the suspension, it helps to handle potholes and humps in a far easier way. The suspension is, however, a bit stiff. The result is unbelievable cornering capability comparable to that of, well, apache 160/200 4v (naturally), or sr 150 from aprilia's stable. Regarding cornering, mention must be made about the tvs remora tyres. They offer excellent grip. When both front and rear are 12 inch wheels, stability is a given. And it shows.Oh, i forgot to mention the fully digital and bluetooth connected rectangular speedo dial. Or, did i need to discuss it ? it's already too hyped.Very generous is the underseat space, too. Larger than any competing brand. But does it all mean that ntorq 125 has no cons ? no, cons it has got plenty. First, take the seat. Excellent padding, but somewhat shorter in length and a little bit sloping towards the front like today's genre of apaches and pulsars and fazers. At 52 years, i am still a fan of escorts rajdoot 175 seats.Next check the fuel consumption. No, my son's ntorq doesn't give 60 kmpl. But it does give 50-51 on highways and around 41-42 within the town. So, it's not that much spectacular. At least less than super splendors, glamours and discovers (125).Quite painfully small is legroom also. Perhaps the only other scooter with still lesser legroom is aprilia's sr models, 125 or 150, both. If, during long journeys, you want to stretch your legs a bit, that's not possible on an ntorq. Source of a personal grudge is the headlamp of ntorq. It's not an led one. Illumination is not bad, but an overall higher-tech machine should come with led headlamp. Unique split-t tail lamp is led, though. After saying so much, i should sum up the whole thing now. If you are between 18 to 38, like riding at a steady 90+ kmph without any sign of your machine getting stressed, look no further. Yes, that "look no further" phrase includes any india-made 125cc bike, the sole exception being ktm's 125cc machine.

The best overall scooter you can buy today. The perfect balance of everything. Buying experience depends on the shop you go, so no comments on that. My buying experience was flawless. As i was certain to buy the scooter, and with no much discussion i purchased it. Looks wise, it is a very balanced scooter. Looks sporty, but natural.
