The TVS Star City Plus offers a great balance of style, comfort, and efficiency. Buying it was hassle-free, and the bike excels in city commuting with its lightweight, smooth handling, and ergonomic design. It’s powered by a reliable 109.7cc engine, providing decent performance and excellent mileage. Maintenance is low-cost, with easy access to service centers and spare parts. While it’s not the most powerful bike for highway rides and lacks advanced features, it’s a stylish, budget-friendly option for daily urban use.

TVS had a winner on their hands in the Victor more than a decade ago. The Star City was a study in its kinship when launched way back in 2005. The latter too was what all a small-capacity commuter motorcycle is supposed to be in India – frugal and comfortable for everyday use, clockwork reliability, low ownership cost, acceptable aesthetics, and a good service network of a known brand. The TVS Star City + is the next evolution of the Star City and the ‘plus’ here, on closer scrutiny, does live up to its name. It was put on static display at the Auto Expo 2014 but it was only now that we had the opportunity of riding this new machine at TVS’s Hosur facility test track and came away quite impressed.

    1. Buying experience:
Seamless Buying experience at Rajput TVS Gadarwara outlet. Hassel is free and easily available on all TVS models.
    2. Riding experience:
It's been 7 years of buying it and still feels like a 1-2 year old. just because used by a single owner only and time to time service and maintenance
    3. Details about looks, performance, etc.:
I'm using the older 1st generation variant of TVS Star City which still looks muscular and eye-catching bike.
    4. Servicing and maintenance:
Service at the dealership during the first 3 years and then a local mechanic is a good choice for lite services because the dealership may cost more and due to the high volume of customers there are chances you may deal with less hospitalization for your bike at the service center.
Just to keep in mind whenever the limit Is reached kindly change the Oil, Air Filter, majorly for a seamless riding experience.
    5. Pros and Cons:
    Pros-
Pickup, Self Start, Seat length and width are both perfect & comfortable. The headlight is bright enough for dark roads.
    Cons-
Company-fitted TVS tires are very bad in quality I got 5+ punctures in the very first year.
The bike is light in weight so whenever riding at high speed it may be impossible to break at the desired distance.
Service notification keeps blinking all the time after service as well.
The major concern is missing front DRL or small road presence lights on the front of the bike as the competition is having nicely.

Its refined engine delivers a good balance of power and mileage, making it suitable for both city commutes and occasional highway rides. • Perfect city bike for a family

    Balaji Krishnan

This has been a no-problem family bike in the last 11+ years of my ride, which has been mostly city ride with occasional longer rides. Except for the need to replace tyres with a better make in the initial year, my experience with this has been good. Annual servicing cost is reasonable. After 61K+ kms ride, even the engine sound or heating levels haven't changed. Clutch and gear engagement has been spotted. Brakes are average for the class of its type. It's a hard feel to let go of this bike after riding for this long.
On the improvements front, I'd prefer one with even better braking and well-balanced wheels, but that's no hindrance from recommending this bike for city rides at speeds of 60kmph. This has been with my family for quite a while and we all enjoy riding it. Pillion's experience has been good both for double side leg position as well as single side saree position. Overall it is a good deal.

  • Low maintenance, City Bike with Power and Mileage.

    Priyush Gupta

It was a very good experience with city rides. Bike seats are comfortable. The thing I like is that if we break suddenly, bike doesn't lose its balance. It stops properly, smooth to ride. Good for regarding turn, breaks, and mileage. 110 CC. Good for office/sales guys. Medium range in price. Low maintenance. Good height. Digital speedometers are problematic in the rainy season. Chains pockets have to change within 3-4 years, approx 40000 km..

As a daily traveller of more than 60 km I have found out that the bike is not worth of mileage and comfort, after every 1000+ km a servicing of 3000/- plus will be generated as if the bike was not made for regular travelling bike can run smooth on 40km/hr if you go more the more engine gets damaged.

  • A Middle Class Happy Ride: TVS Star City Plus

    Anushek Singh Kourav

  • A 26 year experience of this bike.

    Abhirup Chakraborty
