Vespa VX 125 Summary

The Vespa VX 125 is the second premium scooter from Piaggio that will be sold in the Indian market. Cosmetically and mechanically, the scooter is similar to the LX 125 but there are few improvements; most important of them is the 200mm front disc brake setup. The Vespa VX 125 features the MRF Zapper tubeless tyres and the instrument cluster has been updated to give a fresh look. The Vespa VX is powered by the same 125cc single-cylinder air cooled engine which powers its lower version. The engine develops 10.06bhp of power at 7500 rpm which is transmitted to the rear wheel via a CVT transmission. We are expecting this scooter will demand a premium of around Rs 4,000 over its already expensive scooter, the LX 125 because of the inclusion of the front disc brake setup.

Vespa LX125 is a blood-sucking parasite. Never buy a Vespa.

      Rohan Shenoy

There are two fundamental blunders that plague a Vespa scooter. The first is the high price of the scooter. The second is the intentional non-availability of spare parts in the open market.
Vespa intentionally does not distribute the spare parts to anybody except its authorized service centers, which forces the customers to have their scooters repaired at the authorized service centers only. But the quality of work at the services is not that good. Since spare parts are not available in the local market, one has no choice.
There is always a shortage of spare parts, even with authorized service centers. I have had to wait for days together for getting basic spare parts such as air filter elements, petrol cock, accelerator cables, etc. During repairs, the service center is only interested in repairing your scooter with the spare parts they have in stock. If the spare part is not available, they give you a half-repaired scooter and tell you that the remaining repair will be done in the next service.
The fuel efficiency is the poorest. Every time I have complained about it, they tell me "Vespa gives less mileage than others". But I told them that its much lower, they changed some parts and told me to try for a few days and come back later if the problem was not solved. So every time I take the bike there, they make me change some or the other spare parts. I have lost patience and confidence.
Even if you somehow get spare parts and try to have it repaired by your local mechanic (non-authorized), the mechanic will hesitate to repair it. This is because one has to dismantle and remantle more parts to replace any spare part when compared to that of Activa. As a result, mechanics dislike this Vespa scooter.
What I figured out is that the sales numbers of Vespa are abysmally low. Its customer base is so small that local businessmen are not showing any interest in partnering with Vespa to open an authorized service center. You may be able to get an idea of how bad the Vespa numbers are if you look up the Vespa website and realize that there are only 3 dealers in the whole city of Mumbai(including Suburban). As the customer base of Vespa is pathetically low, it is obvious that the only way the so-called authorized service centers can survive is by milking the poor customers - which they do by forcing customers to buy spare parts from them.
Since the sales number is very low, probably the company cannot afford to maintain a good stock of spare parts. Obviously, if there are hardly any Vespa scooters on the road, who is going to buy those many spare parts? , the company may be making the spare parts in small batches, like once or twice every year. If the spare parts are exhausted when you need them, you will have to wait.
Even though the scooter is a premium scooter, there is nothing premium except its image. Customers are treated like captive slaves by being forced to repair only at authorized service centers. Vespa is a blood-sucking parasite feeding off the blood of innocent customers who trusted it to provide a premium experience. Vespa is trying to attract customers using its image and goodwill due to its collaboration with LML a few decades ago. But Vespa should understand that a product does not become premium merely by being priced higher, but by offering better service to customers who trust it.
The situation is so bad that Vespa should buy back its scooters from its customers because it is failing in its obligation to provide sufficient spare parts in a timely manner.

My journey with my dream vehicle vespa vx 125cc started from my showroom visit to check the physical appearance. Its human tendency to compare with the other band and version and the same i did in the trusted website: bikewale.Com compare and check the feature & price.
But, amazed I am with the unique services Vespa brand provides to its customers such as 5yr warranty + 2yr roadside assistance + 2years paint warranty [as its already a 3coated paint] +1year annul maintenance fees + 4 free service. As a beginner driver these influenced my buying decision with the trusted website: bikewale.com.
Now I am happy with my Vespa vx125cc scooter driving to my office it's really gives a classic professional look for professionals. I recommend it strongly for women professionals and students.

Amazing vehicle. I never rode vespa before. It's simply awesome when you ride in the city it's very comfortable even on highways it gives you the feeling of big machine people are asking many times for its looks, it looks so pretty, and maintenance is the too low cost of riding reduced when I started riding.
One of the most recommended scooter for everyone.

Riding experience is very bad, every morning bike was not started and also facing pick up problem. My servicing is time to time for the bike, but its only effect for 3-4 days only then after same problem occurred. Mileage is also worst. I will suggest don't buy. It is a waste of money.. And vespa service, please help me to solve my bike problem.

Vespa.. Ahhaa! love to see this scooter. Its looks too much cute and lavish. Wherever i found vespa i use to get stop at that point and just keep starring at. Very honestly i never drive vespa but i am damn sure that my experience with vespa will be so exclusive, so luxurious. I am die hard fan of its models, colors. Very much finish and stunning touch make it more attractive. I just wish to have it quite soon!

If you like its colour, then see and enjoy but do not buy, worst mileage, bad service.Worst quality of parts. Don't buy, don't buy this overpriced. Fuel meter just shows readings inconsistently, very poor quality, tyres simply loose air pressure. Consider other reliable scooters instead of falling prey to its beauty.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox bike keeps getting stalled every now and then. Dealer unable to rectify problem. No e mail address or phone number of company people to talk to. Company does not want to interact with customers. Left everything to dealers. Worst mistake buying a vespa.

Final words dont buy a vespa if you need peace of mind! go gor the regular honda/suzuki/tvs.
