The VXL 125 is amongst the most affordable models in Vespa’s India line-up. It has recently been facelifted which has brought along a BS6-compliant engine and couple of new features to justify the premium it demands over the previous model.
The Vespa VXL 125’s retro design draws inspiration from the Italian manufacturer’s iconic design philosophy with plush body panels comprising of smooth lines all over. In terms of features, the scooter comes equipped with a digital display with an analogue speedometer. Notably, the new BS6 model also gets a full-LED headlamp, USB charger and an under seat light.
The Vespa VXL 125 is built on the same single piece steel monocoque chassis, which underpins the rest of the Vespa range. Powering the scooter is a 125cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that produces 9.7bhp and 9.6Nm. This is lower than the BS4 version’s power output of 10bhp and 10Nm.
It rides on an 11-10-inch wheel combination shod with 110-70 and 120-70 section Maxxis tubeless tyres. Stopping power comes from a 200mm front disc as standard while the rear tyre gets a 140mm drum brake. Suspension setup consists of a single side arm suspension at the front and a hydraulic monoshock at the rear.
The Vespa VXL 125 is available in six trendy paint schemes - grey, yellow, white, red, matte black and blue. Vespa offers a host of personalization accessories like front chrome bumper guard, a perimeter kit and a visor.
Piaggio India has added the Vespa 75th Edition in the Indian market. This special edition, which celebrates the 75th anniversary of the brand, features a glossy metallic Giallo paint scheme along with soft Nobuk leather feel dark smoke grey seats. The styling elements over the standard model include a flyscreen at the front, a circular bag installed on the retractable rack at the rear, and number ‘75’ on the apron, front fender, and under-seat panels. The design, features, mechanical specifications, and hardware are similar to the standard model.

Struggling to get it serviced and get spare parts. Actually me and my few friends brought it on 2012 . Only the first six months we got the service and after that they closed. The service station was within 13 km. After there was an other service centre located 25 km. Next year they closed. Now the next one is 45 km far. I was abroad for 10 years, and using this only on my vacations. The other friends really fed up with this vehicle. The performance of this scooter is really good. Only complaint about the service.

The bike is working but spares will not be available outside the service centre when you give in service centre they will do the service late and the service cost is too much even brake wires also not available outside the service centre they kept a monopoly and looting the pockets of the customers worst sales policy.

Brilliant Performance & Power with Retro Styling
1 year ago
Deepak Vilayatkar
This is one of the best vehicles I owned, Riding posture is appropriate, and stable on the road due to its single-frame chassis, 3 valve engine enables you to move swiftly you have power when needed and this is the best feature of this bike, engine is awesome. Retro looks to add value to your ride and style, color never fades you wash it and it's just like a new one. services are no worries, yes you may have to wait for some spares sometimes but overall it's not a cause of worry.Pros:1. Value for money2. Best-in-class engine performance and power.3. Stability on the Road is brilliant.4. Looks are amazing.Cons: 1. Small tires increase the chances of skidding.2. Not for fuel economy.

Worse experience with Vespa
Sindhu R C
Poor experience with all means except looks. I had purchased my dream scooter Vespa on 22/4/2021 with lot of expectation. But from that date onwards, more than 10 times. I went to service center. Problems like Starting problem, more than 3 times I changed battery. Cut cut sound coming while riding. Speedometer complaint, Sudden off scooter while driving. Then after quicker start required for restart. Such a worst scooter, I can't explain. Please nobody choose this scooter

A disaster not recommended for hilly areas
1 year ago
Anshul
This scooter is very good for riding even long rides. The major everyone will face is the lack of power. I ride this in shimla & the engine just chokes even in slight elevation. The service team has done every job they could. They changed the roller, belt, etc but all failed. Now they asked that they will change the complete gear part named "reduction gear". They charged me about 4k for it. It improved a bit but the result is still not worth it.
