The FZ V3 is the model that revived Yamaha’s fortunes in India, and since its launch it has been the gold standard for the 150cc sporty commuter, as far as the sales figures are concerned. It offered a number of new technologies like radial tyres and a centralised fuel tank at the time of its launch. It is also one of the pioneers of fuel injection, having made the entire FZ range FI at a time when its competitors were still depending heavily on carburetted variants.
Yamaha Motor India has updated its FZ FI model for 2021. The updated version of the roadster, similar to its premium version, the FZS FI, is two kilograms lighter than the 2020 model, and it tips the weighing scale at 135kg as against 137kg. However, unlike the S variant, the FZ FI misses the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X Bluetooth technology that offers access to functions such as answer back, e-lock, locate my bike, hazard, etc.
The FZ FI will be sold in two colour options – racing blue and metallic black. The feature list continues to include a single-channel ABS, an LED headlight, a 140mm wide rear radial tyre, and a two-level single-piece saddle. The safety net has been enhanced with the addition of a side-stand engine cutoff function on the 2021 model.
Mechanical specifications continue to comprise a BS6-compliant 149 cc, fuel-injected, engine that produces 12.2bhp and 13.6Nm. The hardware includes telescopic forks at the front, preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, and disc brakes on both wheels.
The FZS FI competes against the likes of the Honda X-Blade, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Suzuki Gixxer, and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.

Amazing low end torque.
Rahul R
Amazing low-end torque, unlike most similar other bikes, FZ has high initial torque and goes from 0 to 60 in 5 seconds but the problem is it tops at 110 kmph (if you are alone and have to push after 100, but if there are 2 people, then you have to push after 90 to go to top speed). Refined engine, no noise, no vibration. low weight also easy to ride around in traffic and easy to do cornering. Beginner-friendly bike. Service and spare parts are overpriced.

Power packed despite small engine
Abhishek Kothari
150cc is generally a smaller engine but with Yamaha that's not the case. With the right fuel and oil, the bike performs amazingly well. It's great in terms of handling because of the thick rear wheel and front disk brake. Maintenance wise it isn't much costly. I have regularly changed the oil which costs 250-350rs and regular services anywhere outside of the showroom would cost 200-300RS

Excellent bike

I bought this bike in September 2023. Completed 5500km till now. Gone for a long ride and off-road rides as well. Let me share some pros and cons.Pros: 1. The engine is excellent. It's a Japanese engine and there is no way I can doubt it. I have achieved 103kmph top speed till now. Could have achieved more but due to the lack of an empty road, was unable to achieve it. 2. Breaking is amazing. The ABS saved me so many times from fatal accidents. Rare engine braking is good too. 3. The tyre pressure and quality are nice. It's a radial tyre and it helps to control the bike smoothly. The rare wide type gives an amazing grip on the road. 4. Exhaust sound is bold. It suits the bike.5. The clutch works like butter. The mileage I get is 45-48 on the local streets and 55 on long roads. Cons:1. The tank quality is really poor. Even if it is fibre, you can tap it with your 1 finger and it will bend and come back to normal.2. The provided leg guard from the Yamaha showroom is pathetic. It will bend even if you hit it with a cricket bat. 3. The silver colour plate right beside the gear paddle (life side) and right beside the break paddle (right side) will make your shoe black. Because the silver plate releases a black colour once your toe touches it while applying the break or changing the gear. 4. The bike will start vibrating once you cross 63kmph speed on your speedometer. You can not watch anything on the rare view mirror properly after crossing 70kmph5. Yamaha used to provide back tyre leg guards with BS4 engines. Now they provide half mud guard which makes the bike dirty right below the pillion seat. If anyone sits on the pillion seat during the rainy season, their pant will get dirty for sure Rest, the bike is amazing. Best for long rides and senior persons can also sit on it. I chose Yamaha instead of Hero, TVS and Bajaj because of engine reliability and service.

I bought this bike on 11/01/2024 with an EMI of Rs.20k down payment with BOI bank. If talk about riding it a very comfortable in the long run average is also good around 42-48 km per liter. About looking it looks decent in this price range performance is also good. I get 2 free services from the companyPros - I like about Yamaha it is very stable while riding also breaking system is good for this price rangeCons - Nothing much but yes Yamaha can give more colors on FZ

Sporty look but hard suspension
Amit
The buying experience was good; the dealer provided the bike on time.Big tires give a steady riding experience. The bulky tank gives a sporty look.Mileage is also between 45-50 based on riding. One servicing mechanic did even bother to listen to my request for suspension adjustment he told me there is not any setting.Pros-Sporty lookBig tires steady rideSometimes exhaust feels good.Mileage Cons-Fiber quality was not good even after a single-handed decent use tank cover lock was broken.Fiber quality is not good and gets scratched easily.Low-quality paint on the brake and clutch lever. The main dislike of bikes is the rear suspension, I sometimes feel like riding bicycles that hard it is.With pillion suspension works but in the single seat it is worse. For suspension, I am regretting to buy this and I will not recommend it to anyone.

1. Buying experience: It was an exciting and rewarding experience2. Riding experience: Great for relaxed, comfortable riding. 3. Details about looks, performance, etc. It looks urban and the color is too good and match the modern style4. Servicing and maintenance: Yamaha servicing is great and reasonable, pocket-friendly

Pros and cons Yamaha Fz

I have a 2008 model Yamaha FZ special edition green color. One thing at today's time average is not good on only 30000km Also servicing cost is high and the parts price is costly for engine Bs3 which is not good. But look wise amazing. So I don't recommend anyone to buy this bike. Keep servicing in your mind.

The bike is a total disaster. Pros I've to say is that ABS.Comfortable for long rides. If you are planning to buy an FZ don't go for it go for MT15 or Honda or Tvs bikesCons The gearbox is not smooth compared to V1 & V2.Poor build quality. Can't go to open. Please don't buy this bikeHigh price Worth for 1.30lakhs.

Good bike for daily commute
Vignesh
Bike is okay to ride daily for 60-70 kms. On full tank with power petrol I am getting mileage of 600 kms for 10.5 litres. Average of 58-60 kms/l. Rear brakes would have ABS, but that is missing. I am riding bike in eco mode on 50-60 km/h speed. So it gives this mileage. But if you do rash drive, bike will give very less mileage.

This bike comes with lots of problems:1. The lid of the fuel tank is not proper2. The gearbox is very rough3. You'll not get the feel of riding a Yamaha4. Rear breaks are hydraulic and the performance is very poor5. Breaking and controlling is not that aptOverall agreed with the price point at which this bike comes, but trust me to spend 10-20k more, but don't buy this bike. One more thing, lots of fiber work on the body but the quality is very poor, the locks are very weak.I would suggest going for tvs bajaj or hero by paying 10-20k more you'll get a reliable bike.

Very poor seat quality

I got the mileage below 40 after 2 services. Not comfortable for long rides, the seat is very poor and cause back pain. Should improve seat quality. Now am using rarely my fz and riding my old hero glamour i bought 10 years ago.I hate this fz model only because of the seat. And experienced a vibration above 70kmph.
