My fz25 experience
Muthumanickam V
Bought the fz25 abs 2019 model in perfect riders bangalore. The purchase and delivery of the bike was on time and the rc book was shipped to my home within the specified time frame. After test riding multiple bikes like fz25, duke 200, 250, royal enfield himalayan, mt15, r15. I finally narrowed it to duke 200 and fz25. Duke 200 - did not like the pillion comfort and i was not in need of out right performance machine and was little out of my budget, but i would have bought it if it had a better comfort for pillion. Fz25 - most importantly i liked the riding ergonomics and refined engine with better seat for pillion. This bike does not have a good equipment like the duke but i am okay with it. My experience : really a good bike for daily commute within city limits and a good bike for office going with ample power. Mileage is good for a 250cc bike. I get around 35 on average in moderate city traffic. The bike is not a highway bike for sure, it lacks the 6th gear and you will feel it always when you hit the highway and sometimes even in city high speeds. But since the ergonomics are good you can comfortably ride for a long time in the highway without strain to your body. I would say this bike can cruise comfortably on highway at 85 kmph to 95 kmph comfortably all day long. The one thing which bothers me is its cruising speed, i would have been so much happy if this bike could cruise at 110 kmph comfortably, which duke 200 could do this very comfortably. One big advantage of this bike is tank capacity of 14 litter which gives a good tank range.. Looks: i feel it is not as funky as duke but i would say this bike is designed in a gentleman way. Maintains : cost wise it depends on the service centers and the amount of work that you do. Personally i feel the cost is satisfactory for a 250 cc. Costing between 1500 and 2000 for general service.Pros: 1. Refined japanese engine 2. Good mileage for a 250 cc if ridden sedate. 3. Comfortable ergonomics 4. Good for pillion comfort 5. 5000km/6 months service interval 6. Good pulling power even with 2 ppl in saddle 7. Dual channel abs8. Excellent bike for city use and occasional tours and weekend rides. 9. Very good tank range. Cons:1. Lower cruising speed in highway 2. Lack of 6th gear 3. Not powerful headlights. 4. Mileage reduces drastically when riding above 110 kmph. Overall it an allrounder and practical bike with satisfactory performance.

Yamaha fz25 shows a 10/10 performance in all aspects.I own fz25-white in color The bike has a comfortable seating and great looks, comfortable in cruising through city traffic, also the looks of the bike are eye catching people always stare at the ride and the sound is just amazing. As a 250cc bike its maintenance costs are quite moderate as it has a 2l engine oil capacity.Only cons of fz25 is that its not monsoon friendly!Other than that the bike is just beast!!!

pros:the bike was simply superb this bike is for daily commute purpose and for who loves the mid power and mid torque. engine was well refined and little bit of vibrations at 110km.looks were good the 14ltr tank gives you the beefy and muscular look.seat was well cushioned both raider and pillion.mileage of around 32 to 38kmpl its a good mileage for a 250cc.adding abs as standard gives the confidence while cornering and on high speeds.u can easily flick the traffic on city road conditions because of low and mid range performancecons:1)lighting from the led head lamp was not good at all.its use less u need to put auxiliary lights2)the console meter was not good even though it had every thing required but it missed out the gear position indicator.and the console meter was not clearly visible and it was so short .I like the console meter of duke and tvs apache 160 its clearly visible3)being a 250cc bike it misses out the liquid cooling and front USD forks and still u can have the petal disc for better breaking4)the tires are good but u can have the rear tire as mitchilline tire or pearly like r15v3 we have mitchilline rear tire5)even it misses out the slipper clutch and quick shifter too.im expecting a V2.o of fz25 with all the changes then it would be the best bike.even if it is 1.6lakh to 1.8 price of ex showroom .when you have all u need with yamaha brand and reliability then that is enough for the fans even if it cost little bit high price .I'm really waiting for version 2.0.

I was searching for a bike for long ride purpose. I had a list of bike in my mind for 250-300cc and i final cbr 250. However by mid year yamaha came with fz25. It was eye catching bike and first in 250cc naked by yamaha. And after all vr|46 fan turned my mind to yamaha. Got the bike after a month it was launched. I had my first ride to charoti ahura, it was unforgettable journey. I was happy because i was riding on 35kmpl smooth ride. Never got complaints from service and maintenance part. Apart from the service center that’s a different story. As per company claims no need abs for fz25 but i believe they don’t know about Indian roads where people walk on road as they walk in garden. The bike need abs. The bike need 6th gear. On empty straight line road u will feel the need of it Headlight not enough powerful.

pros:the bike was simply superb this bike is for daily commute purpose and for who loves the mid power and mid torque. engine was well refined and little bit of vibrations at 110km.looks were good the 14ltr tank gives you the beefy and muscular look.seat was well cushioned both raider and pillion.mileage of around 32 to 38kmpl its a good mileage for a 250cc.adding abs as standard gives the confidence while cornering and on high speeds.u can easily flick the traffic on city road conditions because of low and mid range performancecons:1)lighting from the led head lamp was not good at all.its use less u need to put auxiliary lights2)the console meter was not good even though it had every thing required but it missed out the gear position indicator.and the console meter was not clearly visible and it was so short .I like the console meter of duke and tvs apache 160 its clearly visible3)being a 250cc bike it misses out the liquid cooling and front USD forks and still u can have the petal disc for better breaking4)the tires are good but u can have the rear tire as mitchilline tire or pearly like r15v3 we have mitchilline rear tire5)even it misses out the slipper clutch and quick shifter too.im expecting a V2.o of fz25 with all the changes then it would be the best bike.even if it is 1.6lakh to 1.8 price of ex showroom .when you have all u need with yamaha brand and reliability then that is enough for the fans even if it cost little bit high price .I'm really waiting for version 2.0.

Fz25 one of the bike u won’t regret

Actually FZ25 was not in my list I was an addict of FZ16 but I couldn't own at that time because i didn't have the license but the model was discontinued on 2017. In march I was worried and sad that I couldn't buy FZ . But when I rode FZ25 BS4 ABS which was my friends bike for one day full it made a great change in me and I booked this bike but black was not available.Pros :-Better Performance Engine is superb Pillion Comfort Good Pickup Build quality is awesome Good for middle-aged person ABS is awesome Cons :-Lack 5 speed gear Low top end No gear indicatorPlease don't buy this bike if you are going on a high speed or rash purposes or something like that I wish yamaha could bring a great change in 5 to 6 speed gear and gear indicators

The buying experience was amazing. Absolutely zero hassle. The riding experience is fabulous compared to duke. It does the job as promised. Handling is true to its dna. Zero performance issues. Looks stunning. The head light resembles the character bumblebee in the movie transformers. The seating position and the seat itself is very comfortable. The bike is fairly priced in the 250cc category. Hassle free maintenance since it is oil cooled and no to have additional radiator maintenance. Spares are cheap and readily available. The only drawback is it doesn’t have abs.
