About the Reviewer

I bought it from the Yamaha showroom @ ₹62,000/-. The built quality of this bike is so good, a small example, the side stand that came with the bike still works good. It's a low-maintenance bike. After 70/75K kms of driving, the engine had an issue in 2020, but after fixing the issue I think I can run this bike for another 70K kms. Getting spare parts is an issue. It still touches 100kmph sometimes. Every time I get 40kmpl.

Amazing bike with a comfortable seat and sitting position. Never got any back pain. This machine faced 2 floods in Chennai and it still waded through the water-flooded streets without any jerk or stop, thanks to its silencer design. Mileage is surprisingly high on day-to-day driving - getting 45 to 50 kms per liter of petrol. Best option in the 150cc bikes category. Till now, never had any major spare parts change. Regular service with proper change of brake shoes and oil change makes this bike run for more than 10 plus years and still work like a gun.

My First bike. Why Yamaha discontinues this I don't know, may be for MT15, but this bike has everything a good commute bike possesses. There may be some features missing like the engine kill switch, digital instrument cluster, tubeless tire, etc. but these are compromised against the price. In this price range, nothing compared.

In 2013 I bought the Yamaha Sz-r bike. Overall the bike's performance is amazing. The long drive is superb with decent mileage. The sitting position is very good. I feel like riding a horse. The shock absorber is good. Rear drum brake and front disc brakes are very smooth. The pickup is very good. I love it.

Using it since 2013 and best bike ever driven. I don't know why the company discontinued this bike. This bike is a gem and it gives minimum mileage of 48km/l. On the highway, it gives 52-55 km/l. In a city where there is no traffic, it crosses 50 mark mileage.
Looks are head-turning. This bike demands servicing every 3000kms and you should respect that. Service this bike regularly and this bike will never disappoint you.
Its headlight is a little low and at night you will face difficulty in riding it but overall this bike's performance is really good.

Superb engine. Very much refined. I am using 2011 model of yamaha sz-r. My experience was amazing. Very much refined. It used to share similar engine which was in fz 150. Nobody can touch yamaha sz-r, fz and honda unicorn in case of refined engine in 150 cc category. From 2011 till mt and new generation bikes.
Still they are best bike. In comparison to many latest bike. Very premium in case of quality.
