The Suzuki Avenis 125 did manage to impress us when we sampled it for a road test review a few moons back. So, if you are in the market to buy a sporty 125cc scooter, here are the positives and negatives about the Avenis 125 that should help you make an informed buying decision.

Looking at the Ntorq’s success, Suzuki too has attempted to emulate TVS by bringing its own 125cc sporty scooter, the Avenis 125. So, how much has Suzuki succeeded in doing that?

Gone are the days when scooters had to be simple, convenient, and utilitarian. Nowadays, tech-savvy buyers expect their scooters to offer the best of features, unique styling and zippy performance. So much so, that we have an entire segment dedicated to sporty scooters. Suzuki wants to join the bandwagon with the all-new Avenis 125. Now, in a broader scheme of things, the Avenis is nothing but an Access 125 in sportier clothing. But, is it any good? Does it offer similar or better performance than its rivals? The Access 125 has been the most successful product for Suzuki in the Indian market. Since its introduction in 2007, it has been a money-spinner for the company. The reason being, it offered the right amount of value for the money and in fact, it was priced on par with certain 110cc scooters. However, after the launch of the Honda Activa 125 in 2014, the sales of Access 125 started to drop, calling for a much needed upgrade and now we’ve one in 2016 and it’s more than just a cosmetic update. Given the way the premium 125cc scooter market is catching pace, it is not a shocker then that Suzuki decided to try and carve out a share of this segment. The Japanese manufacturer unveiled an upgraded version of the Suzuki Access at the 2016 Auto Expo, last week, called the Access 125. This scooter has been given a new lease of life thanks to a new 125cc heart and a slew of cosmetic updates aimed at giving it a retro flavour.

TVS Motor Company has announced the launch of the 2021 Ntorq 125 Race XP which is by far the most powerful variant of the 125cc scooter. We tested the scooter in various riding conditions to bring you a detailed road test review.
