Hero Vida has launched its first electric scooter in India, the Vida V1. It’s available in two variants: V1 Plus and V1 Pro. The base model retails at Rs 1,45,000 and the Pro costs Rs 1,59,000 (both ex-showroom, Delhi, sans FAME II).
The Vida V1 gets a pretty futuristic look with its apron mountain LED headlight, topped by a small smoked visor, and LED turn indicators. It also gets a split-seat setup with a sturdy-looking grab rail.
Powering the Vida V1 Pro is a removable 3.94kWh lithium-ion battery with a range of 165km while the V1 Plus gets a 3.44kWh unit with 142km range. The top speed for both variants is limited to 80kmph. The Pro variant can go from 0-40kmph in 3.2 seconds while the Plus does it in 3.4 seconds.
On the feature front, the Vida V1 gets LED illumination, a seven-inch TFT touchscreen, riding modes (sport, ride, eco and custom), cruise control, two-way throttle, keyless control, smartphone connectivity, geo-fencing, OTA, regenerative braking, reverse mode, and an S.O.S. switch.
The Vida V1 rides on telescopic front forks and a single rear shock. Its braking hardware comprises a single-disc brake setup mounted on alloy wheels. Further, this new electric scooter gets a maximum under-seat storage of 26 litres.
The Vida V1 rivals the likes of the Ather 450X Gen 3, Revolt RV 400, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and the Ola S1 in the Indian market.

great design. It looks great on the road. it rides great with awesome pick-up and good suspension on Indian roads.can't expect more from the seating comfort. removable batteries are a great plus for charging comfortably from your home. the app has to improve a lot. closing the boot space is not as easy as any other scooter in the market.

I took my first test drive at the showroom through. Let me tell you i am # fidaa on vida. Will be looking ahead to booking soon. For daily commutes this bike is super, looks are refreshing, but only a bit of vehicle and ground clearance could have been better,On the storage part, it could have been much more utilized and made stylish.

A genuine user review

Buying was very easy, but only v1 pro was available. Liked the looks and riding experience. Felt it very light compared to ice engines. The battery charge goes down if you keep it idle which means the claimed range of 110 kms may not be achieved unless it is used continuously. Besides, to reduce the number of charging cycles it is better to charge it when it is below 20% and it is advisable to charge it upto 80% each time. Which again means reduced [actual] range than claimed. I was never able to reach 80kms/hr speed. In eco mode max speed achieved was 45 kms an sports mode 50 kms. And if you change to higher modes, the range gets reduced considerably. The starter switch is in a wrong place. Grocery hook should be provided as in the normal vehicles. Removable batteries are the usp of this vehicle. Y-connector should be provided at reasonable costs which will be helpful to those residing in apartments. The app is not woking on ios platform. I have not so far taken for servicing or maintenance since it is just less than 4 weeks of purchase. Any software upgrades should be made available to the buyers without taking it to the dealer for easy installation.
