BMW Motorrad has revealed the Euro5-compliant R nineT range. The 2021 R nineT series comprises of four models – Standard, Pure, Scrambler, and Urban G/S.
The updated, air/oil-cooled boxer engine on the new R nineT range has received technical upgrades to comply with the latest emission norms. The motor has also received visual fine-tuning for an updated look. The peak power output is now rated 107bhp at 7,250rpm as against 108bhp on the old model. The maximum torque, on the other hand, remains at 116Nm at 6,000rpm. Styling updates to the engine include newly designed cylinder heads, throttle valve parts, and cylinder head covers.
BMW has added a new turbulence system inside the cylinder heads. The Bavarian brand claims that the new system swirls the mixture to ensure even better and cleaner combustion and increased torque.
The standard safety electronics across the model range include the ABS Pro including Dynamic Brake Control (DBC). The safety net of Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and engine drag torque control (MSR) are available as optional extras. All models also get a new shock absorber with travel-dependent damping (WAD) as standard. “Rain” and “Road” riding modes are now included as standard, too. Additionally, R nineT and R nineT Pure get the “Dyna” mode while the R nineT Scrambler and R nineT Urban G/S benefit from “Dirt” mode as an option.
Other upgrades include a classic circular instrument with a new dial, LED lighting, and a USB charging socket as standard. Buyers can opt for Comfort Package that includes Riding Modes Pro, cruise control, and heated handlebar grips.
