2016 TVS Victor Disc Long Term Review – Final

To start off, here are some synonyms for Victor – Winner, champion, conqueror and hero. Err... the last one is a bit controversial, let’s leave that one aside. Okay then, have TVS been a bit presumptuous calling this motorcycle the Victor? We don’t think so.

As I said in the last report the motorcycle was the people’s champion and with the consistent growth it is seeing in sales of the reincarnated Victor, it will likely be one again. Since this is the last report we thought we could go about riding the motorcycle with a passenger on-board. Let’s be real, this motorcycle will see more action with a passenger than without one in most markets in India.

Like we have said before, the 110cc engine is outstanding on this motorcycle so pulling along the excess weight is no issue at all for this commuter. From the passenger point of few, the rear seat felt comfortable initially and the slightly inclined-towards-the-rear seat resulted in an open view of the road. The rear foot pegs have sufficient girth and are well positioned too.

The motorcycle rides on telescopic oil-damped front forks and five-step adjustable rear shocks. Even though those rear shocks are bright red and look sporty but by no means – in the stock set up – do they have a nature of that sort. To be frank, it has absolutely no need to be. Soft? Comfortable? Yes. No doubt.

We rode the new Victor on a variety of surfaces and went into a few potholes on purpose. Because why not? The target market for this motorcycle are tier II and tier III cities and they are not known for their smooth roads. The Victor ate up the rough surfaces well and did not bounce around too much, which we expected from the comfortable suspension setup.

So it’s goodbye to the 2016 TVS Victor. Last thoughts? Do something about that super-soft seat and you have got yourself a near perfect commuter.
