We have got details of Yamaha Motor Corporation’s plans that also include India specific information. The company is betting big on India with plans to launch a 250cc motorcycle in 2014, along with added focus on the scooter segment till 2015.
The fresh details also reveal that the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer intends to develop vehicles in India, which will be cheapest in their global range. Yamaha’s plan concentrates on continuing to expand in Indian market significantly by concentrating more on the mass motorcycle and scooter segments. This will also include increasing production capacity and expanding sales networks here.
Yamaha India has quite a following among youth, but somehow has now succeeded in the mass market. With focus now shifting to mass market bikes, Yamaha might put a dent in numbers of their competitors and significantly increase their share in India.
