MV Agusta officially reveals Brutale 800 RR and 800 Dragster RR
MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR

Just a few hours after the studio pictures were leaked on the internet by a Dutch website, MV Agusta has officially taken the wraps off the Brutale 800 RR and 800 Dragster RR. The Italian marque had started previewing these motorcycles in small bits through teaser videos, though the leak seems to have upset the company’s marketing strategy. Both the Brutale 800 RR and the 800 Dragster RR will make their first public appearance at the 2014 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy.

As indicated by the RR in their monikers, both the Brutale 800 RR and the 800 Dragster RR are performance versions of the standard Brutale 800 and 800 Dragster motorcycles. While the 798cc three-cylinder engine produces 125bhp and 81Nm of torque in the standard motorcycles, the RR versions get retuned engines, which are good for 140bhp and 85.4Nm of torque. Both the RR versions come with a six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch.

Other technical changes include a new MVICS 2.0 system which comes with four maps to deal with misfires and detonation. The traction control offers eight levels of adjustments. Both the motorcycles are built around a tubular-steel trellis chassis with aluminium alloy plates. Suspension duties are performed by 43mm inverted Marzocchi forks at the front and a Sachs monoshock in the rear, linked to a single-sided swingarm.

In true MV Agusta style, both the Brutale 800 RR and the 800 Dragster RR get striking cosmetic changes, making them easily distinguishable from the crowd of standard Brutales and Dragsters. Both the motorcycles are available with new flamboyant paint schemes and a graphic package. While the Brutale 800 RR gets cast wheels, the Dragster RR gets spoked Kineo wheels to match the paint work. Prices start at EUR 16,290 (Rs 12.6 lakh) for the Brutale 800 RR, while the price of the 800 Dragster RR hasn’t been revealed yet.
