Ampere REO Summary

The REO is a stylish version of the V48 offered by Ampere. It has edgy contours that give it a striking appeal. It is available in two battery options, Lead-acid and Lithium-ion. The REO suspended by telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is done by drum units at both ends. Powering the REO is a 250W BDLC motor that draws power from a 48 V/24 Ah battery. With a Lead-acid battery, the REO takes about 8-10 hours for a full charge offering a range of 45-50 km. While in the case of the Lithium-ion battery, it takes about 5-6 hours to charge completely and returning an extended range of 60-65 km. The e-scooter has a top speed of 25kmph and a kerb weight of 70kg (Lithium-ion) and 88kg (Lead-acid).

The REO comes with two years warranty and is offered with the choice of five colour options black, red, white, green and yellow.

Ampere REO Review

  • Good Things

    • Asking price set on the affordable side
    • Gets a kerb weight of just 70kg
    • Doesn’t need registration or a license
  • Could be Better

    • Poor brand recall
    • Claimed range is only 55-60km
    • Charging time is 5-6 hours

BikeWale's Take

The Ampere REO is quite an affordable electric scooter with light weight and good for city runabouts. However, its top speed is limited to just 25kmph, and the battery charging time is quite high at 5-6 hours.

Vehicle best but spare parts easily not available

      Ravi Rathore

The vehicle is best but the spare parts department is updated. The overall price is the best but the service is not good.
No service call reminder and no service schedule properly. Vehicle range from one single charge of fifty-five kilometers charging time of four to five hours and auto cut-off charger. Looking is proper vehicle is not a toy

Bike is ok. Parts are not available

      Pvsv Prasada Rao

Ampere reo bike is almost ok. Less expensive and easy for driving. But your servicing and maintenance are very bad. Spare parts are not available. My bike is almost 3 months break-down. Our dealer doesn't know the servicing procedure and has sufficient experienced staff for repair. I want a motor for my bike how can I get it!

      Reo plus best option

      Babu

Reoplus blue shade comfortable price very smooth running and explained battery charging front and rear tyre pressure keep so that good mileage. No maintenance at all. Only break nut tightening when break, not enough felt. Manually we can do it. Good pulling even two people along with some load. The signal switch is easy. Excellent display of bold notations. Battery level. Even with battery level last stage red line we can confidently ride 10 kms even in night travel
A headlamp is good. Good foot clearance. Spring action is good. Even there we can charge after dismounting the battery and the cables available generally always charge the battery as it is in the vehicle. Even in rainy times no problem riding. There is a reverse mode slow and its comfortable and easy for the legs. Tubeless tyres good. Li battery.
Our work is to charge the battery.
Wheel tyre pressure check. Personally, i brought
A bicycle pump and a pressure gauge.
Bimonthly only around 70 units hike in our metre reading. No sound smooth riding. Bright red stop signal on the rear. Led lights. Lady footrest supports rear rim for hand enough space under the seat. Side stand rear stands is convenient to use.
With a key insert, we can lock the hand bar seat and power on the reoplus. There is a mcb switch under the seat to shut off power whenever required.
      Good acceleration, and braking.Horn.
It's a fact while riding the battery box may hit road obstructives irregularly we have to notice. But usually, speed breakers on road are very smooth rides. 5200 kms 8 months. No problem.
Rainy days mud trapping over mud guard and personally, water washed. We gave time to dry to further battery charging.
      Nice reoplus.

      Motor is bad

      Abhisek Das

The motor got rust inside within 11 months of purchase. There was no instance of keeping the motor under water which the dealer say not to do while selling the item. But still happened. And now after giving it to the dealer "nidhi ev world" it's over 1 month almost now and still have no update on when can be received the vehicle repaired. Horrible experience in terms of service and in terms of riding as well.

      R&d after sales

      Nagendra Babu

The buying experience is the worst and the packing is bad in condition
Ridiculous riding experience millage what has been promised while I was searching in internet and what I am getting now 30% less
It was promised 100km per charge in economical mode but I never crossed 70km even in a single sketch.
I complained several time and I was curious to look after the service manual that they provided and I found that 80+/- 5 km.
Is it not cheating? until you buy the bike you couldn't see the manual.
Now I am starting to search on the internet, it is now modified to range 80 to 100 km per charge.
Mechanical design is the worst, screws are also at mirrors near footrest mudguards.
Sometimes we need to press more than 2 times to power it on.
Suddenly raising get down why don't know
General service what they did is funny only wiring connections.
Battery draining is the worst experience
Breaks are giving gas blaster sounds
If clean the bike you will see the water coming down under the seat. Where is ip protection?
Vibration moments of shockers are awesome if you in a bad road you have to check entire bike once is there any screw or bolt got lost
Charging time, wow it literally takes 7 to 8 hours which was promised 5 to 6 hours.
Power charges more than fuel charges if you ride continuously.
8 units charge approx 50rs including all charges.
      What are the benefits
      Service is worst ever.

      Poor servicing and maintenance

      Wilfred Jenil Jose

I bought a e-bike 3 years back 1 st year 7 times faced issues, which got free of cost support from the seller, 2 years 5 times spend 8 thousand for service, 3rd year onwards not getting a proper response for service, slowly bike moved to showpiece in my parking, ampere customer care asking to fill the google forms for the issue, I don't know, how many years they will take and check the issue, now it's your risk servicing and maintenance.
