One of the major issue that i faced in avenger 220cc is about ignition and hand lock system. Both are locating in different places and the bike will start even though you forgot to remove the hand lock system. 4 Times i met an accident due to this reason. I just started my bike and moved it with out removing the hand lock key. In most of the bikes the hand lock and ignition systems are locating in a same place. The people who rides these types of bikes suddenly goes to avenger 220cc may face the same problem which i had been faced

  • Avenger 220 go for it...You will thank me

Hi everyone, i was buying a new bike for me so all of my parents and relatives suggested me to buy bullet 350 and i booked bullet 350 however i didn't like that model's looks , the only thing is that the 350cc engine .But due to shortage of that model in those days dealer was unable to deliver me the bullet on my desired date. So i started thinking about other bikes under 1 lakh. But being as a traveler as i am from himachal i want a bike that will be comfortable for long rides. So i thought about new bajaj avenger 220 street as i had driven my friend's avenger 220 cruise one time and it was so amazing. There were also other bikes under 1 lakh but that were not so comfortable. So on my birthday i bought avenger 220 street and i was so excited about this bike as its looks was so good than bullet 350 and it was not so heavy and also important thing is tubeless tyres and rear wide tyre which i loved the most in looks and also comfort in long rides. After i bought this all of my relatives and parents was impressed by this bike when i came home. All were asking which bike is this ...It seems costly. And i was so happy ... Its key features are its style and feel like god...Fuel efficiency...Really really comfortable seat ...Big tank and and one thing u can also impress girls by this bike....Girls love this bike (personal experience) .

Long rides are so comfortable and you can move anywhere on highway or hilly areas easily without heating up. Personal experience of rides on himachal pradesh.

Service is so cheap n good an bajaj have service stations at everywhere.

And in last there is only one drawback ..That is , you will reach your destination , but your heart will not want to stop ..That all i can say...Go for it.

Bajaj avenger 220 street is my first love.

  • Made for the street but beware of the avenger!

    Rowena

When i was considering buying a bike, my husband suggested i go in for a motorbike. I had already ridden a bullet and the avenger seemed a bit more manageable since my feet could touch the ground. So it was decided and i purchased the avenger 220 street, military green on october 2016. The next few months were the most fun with long rides to nandi hills early in the morning to break in the bike. After the first service, the bike didn't seem as smooth but did give me more speed. I am not sure if it was the look of the bike or it's maintenance or that i was a woman rider that people usually gave the bike a second look. The local kids often mistook it for a harley (rofl). although owning the bike was a pleasure, not all aspects were as enjoyable. I found the brakes quite sharp. I had three falls in all; each time thrown in the exact same manner to the ground, on the exact same side, giving me the exact same bruises... What do you know!! my second issue was with the neutral...Man, was it annoying or what? well i did figure out that this little lad needed only a tap to go into neutral though it was fun to watch my husband struggle with it (gave me an impish delight after all i heard him say about woman drivers and riders). another issue was with storage. Where do you put those bike papers? i didn't want one of them ugly boxes siting at the back seat... I was often made to sit at the back too! i wouldn't want a box there to make me more uncomfortable! the back seat isn't a blessing either, you have to figure out the right manner of sitting at the back and you may be able to remain comfortable for about 40 minutes before your butt goes numb. finally the big issue... Say you go on a long trip and come back to your bike in about 10 days or so, it won't start! yup! and guess what, there isn't a kick start either... You heard me right! so what do you do? push start... Get someone to help you push it down a long slope on neutral and then put it in gear to start the bike. And mind you, once you get it moving, do not.. I repeat, do not shut it off until you have ridden a couple of kilometers to charge the starter. maintenance wise, it has been a breeze, since after the first two services you don't have to visit the service center for a long time. The service too has been efficient and good. The bike is easy to maintain and will look great if you put in the effort to keep it shiny and clean. all in all, its's a great city bike. Keep it running most of the week and you'll be fine. Take care of it and keep it covered well and it will respond well to you too. Remember to tap it into neutral and finally careful with the brakes. i took the time to write this review as a tribute to my bajaj avenger street 220 as i will bid it adieu tomorrow. I had a great experience but i'd prefer a non geared vehicle to cater to my needs, taking the kids around and doing my shopping independently. I do know for a fact that all owners and future owners of the avenger street 220 will only share great experiences.

    Style styling is excellent.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox engine performance is good though it heats up a little. I think it will be fine after 1st servicing. Cannot comment on fuel economy as have not used it much. Gear shifting is in trouble in beginning phase but once you get used to it, there is no problem at all.

Ride quality & handling ride quality is excellent. Even if you ride for 15km, you feel like riding more and more :) handling is smooth and this is one of the most comfortable bikes available in the market.

Final words if you are looking for comfort and good feel at low price, go for it!

areas of improvement tubless tyres and smoother gear box would have been a plus point. Also fuel ecomony is a question mark!

    Sachin

I wanted a cruise bike, for long rides, so i decided to buy bajaj avenger, but the mat black colour of bajaj avenger street was stunning, so i selected street.

Riding experience was awesome to the core, which made me travel 3000kms in just 15 days.

And the speed is too good I've crossed 130+ km/h on single ride and 140+ km/h in doubles.

The only bike which makes you feel comfortable while and after riding. The no strain and pain vehicle.

    Great mileage:

    <50kmph-60kmpl

    <60kmph-50kmpl

    <80kmph-40kmpl

    >100kmph-30kmpl for sure.

The complete speed and mileage test with well maintained and used single fuel brand (shell).

Powerful 200cc engine and oil cooled technology makes your ride cool and safe.

The zero maintenance vehicle for affordable price.

  • Why you don't need to buy bajaj avenger

    Kundan Kumar

Hi, i got this bike in 2016 initially the bike looks good and comfortable but after riding around 25000 km you have to change every thing in this bike, they don't have good service centre and machine, i have tried lot of service centres but they don't have any idea what to do with this bike they will just open your bike keep it with them self 3-4 days. The service cost is to high. Over all rating is 1 ...............

    Kanav Sharma

Since its a 220 cc bike its good to change engine oil after every 2500 kms this model comes with no kick start so always be conscious about you electric start this model has only front disc break so need to be conscious in terms of speed for 220 cc it should be front & rear disc for safety

    1. buying experience was ok.
    2. Riding experience really great.very comfortable. initially you will get noise from front disc till 450 to 500 km. after that it will be alright. also heating issue until first 500 km.
    3. Looks is personal opinions. I like it that's why I bought it.
4.for service I've done from Amba bajaj Hosur road Bangalore, did not get good feedback. I felt they have enough money so they don't care about customer. after first service engine issue start done on 4k km. don't know what will happen next.
    5. pros: the most comfortable bike I've ridden.
cons: 1.Wrost service from Amba Bajaj Hosur road Bangalore.
    2. mileage: I am getting 30 to 35 which is not good. I ride around 65 kmph.
    3. breaks are Dangerous. very careful.

    Tips for other riders

Since its a 220 cc bike its good to change engine oil after every 2500 kms this model comes with no kick start so always be conscious about you electric start this model has only front disc break so need to be conscious in terms of speed for 220 cc it should be front & rear disc for safety

    1. buying experience was ok.
    4 Engine oil leaking.

    Rashid Adat

Ahhh! this bike was my dream bike. I had a craze of avenger. Finally i bought it after so many patience before a year ago. So many people were there to told me that bajaj's bike is not good at all and those rubbish things, despite that all i bought it, till now this bike has been my most favourite and comfortable bike ever. Guys , this bike is really awesome.. Excellent from all points. Guys, if you are thinking to buy it, go for it. Its totally worth. Value for money.

    Tips for other riders

From my experience i have observed that engine oil should be change after 3000 kms.. And yes if you maintain your chain by chain lube on regular basis, then experience will be more smoother.
