The Gold Star is a modern classic bike from BSA that has a rich heritage in India as well as in a few other countries. Mahindra owns this brand through Classic Legends and is now relaunching BSA in India on August 15th.
From the pictures, it is clear that the Gold Star is heavily inspired by the original bike. The bike can be seen with curved fenders and a classic fuel tank. There's also a lot of chrome all over the bike. As for hardware, the motorcycle has a cradle frame with a telescopic fork up front and twin springs at the rear. The bike rides on wire-spoke wheels. Meanwhile, braking duties are taken care of by a single disc at both ends and ABS are fitted as standard.
The Gold Star gets its power from a 652cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which makes 45bhp and 55Nm. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. These specs are quite similar to its nearest competitor - the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
In terms of pricing, there's a high chance the company could undercut the Interceptor 650 by a decent number. We expect the price of the bike to be around Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 3.3 lakh.
