Hero Maestro Edge 125 Summary

The Maestro Edge 125 is the flagship scooter from Hero’s stable that sits above the Destini 125. Unveiled during the 2018 Auto Expo, the scooter shares its underpinnings with its 110cc version, the Maestro Edge.

The Maestro Edge 125 is the first scooter in India to feature fuel-injection technology. On the features-front, retaining the existing features of the Maestro Edge, the 125cc variant gets additional equipment like semi-digital instrument console, textured seat and a signature LED lamp on the front apron. It is also offered in a new variant that features a Bluetooth-equipped fully-digital instrument cluster, full-LED headlamp and a few revisions to its styling to make it look more aggressive.

The scooter draws its power from a BS6-compliant, 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor that is capable of producing 9bhp at 7,000rpm and peak torque of 10.4Nm at 5,500rpm. For cycle parts, the scooter comes with telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear, while braking is done by drum brakes at both ends with an option for a disc for the front. The system is equipped with Hero’s Integrated Braking System.

The Maestro Edge 125 is available in as many 14 different colour options. In terms of competition, it goes up against the Suzuki Access 125 and the Honda Activa 125 in India.

Hero Maestro Edge 125 Review

  • Good Things

    • Runs a refined engine
    • Gets option of fuel-injected motor
    • Features external fuel filler cap
  • Could be Better

    • Vibrates at certain speeds
    • Misses out on LED headlamp
    • Instrument cluster looks dated

BikeWale's Take

Hero’s Maestro Edge 125 sits above the Destini 125 and comes with various practical features, stylish design and a refined 125cc motor which is also available in fuel-injected form, something that is uncommon in scooters.

Hero Maestro Edge 125 Expert Opinion

The Maestro Edge 125 is Hero MotoCorp’s attempt to capture the growing 125cc scooter segment. Yes, the Destini 125 has already been in the market since the last few months, but this one is a bit more premium and is targeted at Indians who are style conscious and want something premium. Hero claims that a lot of focus has gone into making the Maestro Edge 125 an easy going, comfortable and performance scooter. We spent a few hours with it in the grueling New Delhi traffic to uncover some of its traits.

Never found any major problems after buying the Mastero Edge, Reliability x100
The service network should be improved as I live in Rau and the service network near me is not so good. I don't find any cons in the scooter.
But one problem I found was meter wire got exploited and it made un present sound.
I don't problem with it or with an early one.

My experience with Hero Maestro is very nice, and I am using it daily but it never stops in between your journey. It requires very few services yearly. Yet I have traveled almost 25000 km but it never ends and it gives me same experience as new ones. I need a little bit of heavy body, so it makes you feel comfortable while driving and balancing on the road. And at last, I recommend you to buy this.

When I first wanted to buy a scooty I directly went and bought Maestro Edge 125.
It has a great sitting position and it gives me very excellent comfort while riding,it has a very big seat and it can easily accommodate 1 rider and 1 pillion.
It has very specific awesome looks and the cutting-edge body is mind-blowing even though it has a plastic fibre body it looks like a beast inside.
It has great power and very good breaks and good suspension.I rode it in all kinds of road dirt and even took it for off-roading it's a bit difficult but it didn't bother me much. I bought my scooty in December 2019 and even now it gives me almost 50-60km per litre of petrol.
The service is also very easily available for this scooty and it's very low maintenance.
I recommend buying this if you love scooties.

      Maestro review

      Ramit Dihidar

Buying Experience was troublesome. The salesperson was trying to fool us by misleading stats.
Although initially riding experience was comfortable, after 2-3 years there started a few issues. Recently it would stop in the middle of the road which is a very dangerous issue considering high speed traffic which may cause a lot of problems. We noticed this incident frequently and when enquired the service center is suggesting to replace the entire key section.
Hence moving onto the servicing and maintenance part which was cheap initially for the first few years, but recently there were high charges for mostly replacements. To provide an estimate in the last 3 months alone it took a toll of around 4k to replace parts.
The mileage is another issue with it. However high the salesperson may claim one will get around 30kmpl max.
The looks and performance were otherwise good but considering the price point I would prefer to look for other options considering my not-so-good after-sales experience.

      Review for 2016 model

      Hitesh

Hero claimed that the mileage would be around 45-50kmpl in reality side I got an amazing 30kmpl on average. Can't ride too fast because it starts trembling, whining and shaking also sucks fuel a lot. Made me feel like riding a 125cc Yamaha sports bike pure waste of money. If I wanted this average for my daily commuter i would happily spend that much money on making electric scooters on my own and at least save the service cost. the 2 star which is shown is due to the on-and-off companionship I have had with this scooter.
Brakes, Body and Fairings, Charger, Suspension
you name it I can show you a bill for it everything had to be changed for 2 reasons 1st it is expensive to get original parts and 2nd even after the original parts the quality is just like a "safari" if you know what that stands for.
Honestly at this point after riding it for more than 50k kms realised one thing this was a bad investment. It makes me consider EV (sounds gay) but idk this is really diappointing for the company that brought Splendor and other amazing mileage bikes.

      Avoid buying.

The buying experience was very nice. Scooter vibrations are way more than any scooter. Engine performance reduced in these past 3 yrs of riding. The looks are nice. But the service was very poor in rural areas. Parts are not available at authorized service centers. Avoid buying in rural areas.
Fiber parts are cracking in headlight part

      Worst product

      Goutam Phukan

The engine quality of this bike is very very poor. I gave -10 marks out of +10 for this bike. When I bought this bike, i got problems from the first month of buying. Worst product ever by the hero. The battery goes down sometime and the self didn't do work sometimes and the kick will also jump sometimes. Overall the quality of the bike is worst than everything.
