  • Good scooter with rattling noise

    Leenus J Martin

I bought this scooter around a month back. Dealer was very cooperative and sales persons helped a lot. In terms of pricing, it is cheaper than Activa and Jupiter. But, from day one this scooter is having rattling noise problem from the front end. If you hold the front visor, the noise goes off. This is an indication of poor fitment. They have given a small rubber (sponge like) pad to arrest this noise. But, up to around 30kmph speed the rattling noise continues. After 45 to 50kmph another rattling sound comes from beneath the seat. Have to figure out the exact location. In general riding comfort is good. Telescopic suspension at the front works well while negotiating speed breakers which is very common in our area. Seat comfort is just ok. It should be better, as most of the competitor vehicles are having very comfortable seating. Pillion rider can sit comfortably as the seat is big enough. Digital fuel meter is not very accurate, but doing its job. Space below the seat is comfortable to keep a decent size helmet. I am using a full face steel bird helmet. All plastic design makes the vehicle light and engine response is decent for city commuting. Hero should focus on the rattling issues on priority basis, as one of my friend who is using the old maestro for around three years is also having the same problem, indicating design team at hero has not concentrated on this problem from the date of launch. Even though it is a small issue, while riding this small rattling sound is annoying.

  • Bad service for decent product

    Karthik

I am facing petrol leakage/evaporation issue from the day one. Petrol smell is coming from the bike and i complained the same at the time of service. But everyone was saying that smell is common in maestro. I thought may be they are right. I was getting hardly 30 - 32 kmpl mileage. But from last 10 days i observed that petrol is evaporating very quickly. From morning to evening it evaporates 2 points(as per speedometer fuel reading) petrol. I have given for servicing in phoenix showroom hitech city branch, hyderabad and explained my issues. They did service and said that there was some issue with fuel pipe and said they cut some pipe and resolved the issue. But unfortunately issue was not resolved. Its been one week and i have been visiting to service center for 4 times and they were busy, technicians are in leave or some other issues they were asking me to visit again. In the mean time my maestro edge utilized 2200/- worth of petrol for just 300 km's drive(regular commuting, not a single long drive). Finally they have taken my bike today for service and identified broken "carburetor flange" and it will cost around 100/- to change it. I waited for almost 1 hour in service center to listen that spare is not available with them. Now they are not able to tell when it will be resolved. I have given 2 star rating because ride quality is good and i am very comfortable driving this bike. But hero service is very bad.If system allowed i will update this thread till issue resolves.

  • Value for money scooter for the segment

    Manoranjan

I owned this scooter for 1 year and about 1500km .I would say that the customer service is very good in the showroom. After I bought that scooter i am happy with the comfort the. Front wheel has telescopic suspension which absorbs the bumps.Talking about looks are the best 110 cc segment in which you get a sporty front fairing. The performance of the bike is also best in segment. The pickup is very good. And the brakes could be better.

I often go to my office with my maestro edge. It is so easy to handle and smooth to drive that it gives me full pleasure of enjoying a comfortable ride within my city as well as outside the city. I love its pickup and balance..As per mileage its average but good. There is my concern for its fiber body.

It is a powerhouse and a very good performer. Pros.*engine is very good, less noisy and you can overtake almost every vehicle on road as it has very fast pickup*looks are so good muscular design and aggressive styling makes it a modern looking scooty *riding experience is very good and the rider gets a comfortable riding posture. Cons.*no cons it has a mileage of 40 in the city and 50 on highways it can be a con.
