Hero MotoCorp has announced the launch of the new XPulse 200 4V in the Indian market. This new variant of the motorcycle will be sold alongside the standard XPulse 200 (two-valve) in our market. The BS6-compliant, 200cc, four-valve, oil-cooled engine produces 18.8bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 17.35Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. Hero MotoCorp claims that the four-valve motor offers power across the mid and top-end speed range and delivers stress-free engine performance even at high speeds.
Other changes to the motorcycle over the two-valve version include the revised switchgear that comprises an integrated starter/engine cut-off button. Hero MotoCorp also claims better illumination from the LED headlight and improved cooling through the seven-fin oil-cooled. The features also include an LED taillight, a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, and a single-channel ABS.
The styling cues remain unaltered, although the company has new colour schemes and updated graphics on the XPulse 200 4V. The motorcycle is available in three new colour options – Trail Blue, Blitz Blue, and Red Raid. The motorcycle retains a round headlight at the front, a wind-deflector, sleek taillight, raised front fender, wire-spoke wheels (21-inch front/18-inch rear), and a tall-set exhaust.
The hardware on the XPulse 200 4V retains 37mm telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock, and petal-type disc brakes. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 158kg (kerb). Hero MotoCorp will also offer the Rally Kit for the XPulse 200 4V. The optional kit will bring a longer travel suspension, flat saddle, knobby-pattern tyres, and a new side-stand to the motorcycle.

Worst bike ever. Can’t bear the service cost.

I am writing this review after using the bike for more than a year I must say this is the worst bike ever. The service cost is so high that we can maintain the car easily and not this bike. Last time my service amount was 3500 for 9k kilometers now it is 7k for 12.5k kilometers. This Xpulse is not comfortable for the ride or mileage or pocket-friendly. Never fall for this trap, please. Never buy this bike and regret it.

After riding my Xpulse 200 4V for 600 km on highways this past weekend I’m in a position to offer my two paise regarding the motorcycle’s suitability for long-distance adventure riding. Power: The motorcycle’s sweet spot on the highway is between 90 and 100 kmph. I did push it to 115 kmph at one point to check the top speed, but it was quite stressed and unstable at that speed. 90 to 100 kmph is where everything seems to be in harmony. The handlebar and foot pegs don’t buzz. The engine sings along and the wind completely drowns the quiet exhaust noise. The motorcycle is quite stable and can sit at that speed for hours on end, which is exactly what I did. Note that I weight 110 kg and I was carrying around 10 kg of luggage. This may have added to the stability of the motorcycle while slowing it down a little.

This is the best bike in this price segment

This bike is very good as per the price segment and has a lot of power too. This is a proper off-roading bike that no one else apart from Hero offers in this price segment. This bike is good for touring as well as offroading. I have ridden the bike for 415 km in a day and have also ridden it non-stop for 380 km in which I took a break of just 5 minutes and I did not face any issues.

Everything about this bike is great (except highway rides) but everything goes down the drain when you interact with Hero. It’s a degraded experience- at the end feels like a total scam! From the first call to Hero to book the bike to the 10th service - it’s been a horrible horrible experience. This is not 21st-century India.

The very good thing is the ride experience. Have a good Ergo, Handling, and suspension that gives a confidence to ride on sand roads Not boring to cruise on the roads. About the service, as usual, Hero technicians try to fill the bill. The only Cons are what ladies in my home say about rear seat height. But it's okay for an adv

Waste of money, I bought an Xpulse 200 4V. First of all giving mileage 32 to 36 maximum and even 3,000 KM not completed. Oil leaking issue in the head of the engine, and battery problem, breaking system is also not good. Please don't buy Xpulse 2004V.

Nothing but regret

I bought the Rally edition back in April this year, I don't think it's worth the money that I paid for this bike, let's talk about Tork I would challenge Scooty is much more powerful than this bike considering it Scooty's CC. If any adult sits on a pillion you will feel that bike is literally pushing itself ahead forcefully. I didn't expect this from Hero. No power at all. And the helmet I was given for Rs.2000 was chip as hell.

Hero Xpulse 200 4V: Balancing Performance and Expectations
29 weeks ago
Harshitha Priya S
After two years and 30,000 kilometres of riding the Hero Xpulse 200 4V, I've developed a nuanced perspective on its capabilities and limitations. While the bike presents itself as a robust adventure tourer, my extended experience reveals a mix of strengths and shortcomings. This review will detail the bike's performance, features, and areas needing improvement, helping prospective buyers make an informed decision.Specifications and Features : The Hero Xpulse 200 4V is designed as an adventure tourer and off-road bike, featuring:Engine: 199.6 cc, oil-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve single-cylinder OHCPower: 19.17 PS at 8500 rpmTorque: 17.35 Nm at 6500 rpmBrakes: Disc brakes both front and rearFuel Capacity: 13 litersMileage: 51.59 kmpl (claimed in the city), but real-world figures are around 40 kmpl in the city and 45 kmpl on highways.Body Type: Adventure Tourer and Off-Road BikeKey features include single-channel ABS, daytime running lights (DRLs), Bluetooth connectivity, multiple riding modes (Road and Off-Road), navigation, an adjustable windshield, and a fully digital instrument cluster.Performance and Riding Experience :The Xpulse 200 4V is versatile, performing well on various terrains. Its off-road capabilities are impressive, thanks to a compliant suspension and nimble handling. The bike excels on broken city roads and mountain trails, offering a fun and confident ride. However, its long-distance touring claims come with significant caveats.City and Off-Road Performance :In urban settings, the bike's agility and manageable size make it a good commuter. The digital instrument cluster, navigation, and Bluetooth connectivity enhance convenience. The suspension effectively absorbs city bumps, making for a comfortable ride.Off-road, the Xpulse shines with its torque delivery and gearing. The riding position and handlebar configuration ensure control and comfort, even on challenging trails. The bike's off-road tyres and robust build inspire confidence across varied terrains.Highway Performance :On highways, the Xpulse 200 4V can maintain speeds of 120-140kmph comfortably. Beyond this, vibrations become noticeable, particularly on the handlebars. Aftermarket grips and quality riding gloves can mitigate this to some extent. However, the bike struggles with sustained high-speed runs, often overheating and developing engine problems after 150-200 km of continuous riding. This limits its appeal as a long-distance tourer.Reliability and Maintenance Issues :Despite its strengths, the Xpulse 200 4V requires significant maintenance. The engine's reliability has been a concern, with issues arising early in long rides. The cooling system is inadequate, leading to overheating and potential engine damage during prolonged use. Additionally, components like the exhaust often produce a "rattler" noise, and parts such as the cone set and racks deteriorate quickly.Regular maintenance is crucial, but even with diligent care, the bike has experienced multiple breakdowns and trips to the workshop. These reliability issues diminish the overall riding experience and confidence in the bike's long-term performance.Value for Money :With an approximate on-road price nearing 3 lakhs, the Xpulse 200 4V falls short of expectations in terms of reliability and long-distance touring capability. While it excels in off-road performance and city commuting, the frequent need for repairs and maintenance detracts from its value proposition. Prospective buyers should weigh these factors, considering the bike's strengths against its significant shortcomings.

Tips for other riders
The Hero Xpulse 200 4V is a competent off-road bike with several standout features for city commuting and adventure riding. However, its limitations become evident during long-distance tours, with reliability and maintenance issues overshadowing its initial appeal. For riders seeking a versatile and affordable off-roader, the Xpulse offers a solid option, but those planning extensive touring may need to look elsewhere or be prepared for higher maintenance demands. While the bike has been a capable companion in many respects, its performance does not fully justify the investment, particularly for long, uninterrupted journeys.
