  • Best bike in 125cc segment

    Shubham Naygade

Best bike in the segment. The silent start feature is an amazing, smooth ride. The only downside is that BSVI phase II is a little low-powered as compared to BSIV, I own both bikes. BSIV rear tyre is too thin which is now wider in BSVI version. Now it has better handling and feels confident to ride. The instrument cluster is also improved. New LED headlights are not very powerful for highway rides.

  • My first bike: lots of memories and mixed feelings

    Roy

Before owning this I only cycled for 10 years. Then bought this and learnt to ride on my own. I learnt to ride on this so it will always be a special one for me. My black beauty. First learnt on this, first went on a long ride on this, first took a girl on a date on this. Lots of memories. Bought it in Oct 2020. After riding it for almost 4 years finally upgraded to cb350. Now looking to sell my sp :(. It will break my heart to sell it, but no place for 2 bikes in our garage.
Anyway, let's come to the pros and cons.
    First the good :
The engine is the best in its segment. Splender, Xtreme, and Raider for long rides apart from this, but the Honda sp125 sitting posture and engine is best among all of them. The gear shift is also good for most parts, I went to over 20 long rides over 1200km each. The bike took a novice like me safely to my destination and brought me back home without any problem. Thank you my black beauty. Also, I got the company's claimed mileage.
    Now the bad:
    1. The rear tyre is narrow and lacks grip, and I fell 2 times for the tyre skid. Good thing I was on low speed so nothing major happened.
    2. Bike shakes on the highway at 70+ speed.
    3. Overtaking is a problem.
    4. Hard suspension and seat.
    5. Gear changing sometimes stocks.
    6. The headlight is low power (I understand it's Honda company policy so it doesn't blind opposite direction traffic blind, but then every company should follow this standard. Even my new CB350 headlight has the same problem). So use aux lights.
Conclusion: it's a good bike for the price. Every motorbike has pros and cons, you, as a raider need to understand the machine you riding, its advantages and shortcomings, and respect that, keep that in mind, and just ride on. For this one use an aux fog light.
End thought: she wasn't a perfect motorbike, but, she was my first. And I'll always remember and love my black beauty.

    2. Gives very good mileage(45 km/l in the .Mountains and 60+ on the highway)
    3. The front look is very bulky, you will feel like you are riding a 150cc bike.
    4. Seat is very comfortable.
    Cons:
    1. Rear tyre should have been a bit wider

Honda SP125 Superb refined engine, and a smooth gearshift. Powerful enough for daily commuting. The mileage is above 50 in the city ride. Looking futuristic. An engine kill switch is there. The average starter is impressive. The LED headlamp is awesome. 125cc engine is superbly refined. The only con is there is no rpm meter. They should provide an ABS with Great looks, smother driving in the city and highway, great mileage in its class, creative engine to perform.

  • I rate 7 out of 10 for this bike

    Abhinand R

    Buying experience
well my buying experience was good. I got the bike within one week.
    Riding experience
well, this bike offers a nice riding experience. Very smooth engine till 55km/hr, after that, especially after 65km/hr engine becomes a little uncomfortable, I took the bike above 70km/hr. I am riding daily for almost 50 kms both up and down. I am totally ok with engine tuning. I never felt that I made a wrong choice.
    Details about looks, performance
I went for a pearl siren blue color. I think this is the best color that honda offers. In this color bike looks awesome. Coming to performance engine sound is good. In the console, I am seeing 73km/l mileage. A Digital console helps a lot. This bike is not for racing purposes, the initial pull is low, 5th gear lacks power but is not bad.
    Servicing and maintenance
               nothing much to tell.
    Pros
looks good, has good mileage, and has a digital console
    Cons
I have got two big issues with this bike, and because of these issue will not recommend this bike 100 percent.. The first issue is its headlight, they say its led and blah blah, head light is not up to mark, completely not satisfied because my daily route is a mix of both urban and rural areas, in urban are the headlight is ok because of the street light but in a rural area, this light is not ok since there is no ambient light in my route this is exactly where the disappointment comes. Honda could have done more. The service center said I must replace the head light, with a much more powerful one. The second issue that made me hate this bike, the gear could get you annoyed. Honda bikes have gear-related problems, other shine sp 123 and unicorn owners agreed with this point. The problem is when you down the gear quickly the gear gets stuck or jammed. This is highly disappointing when you are in traffic, this issue makes you look like a dump fool also dangerous, with time this issue may get fixed. Exempting these two issues, this bike is a good go.

    Owner

Okay, so I have been riding this bike since last year the riding experience is so clean. Honda provided a very refined engine for this motorcycle. It easily gives an average of around 63 in local and up to 68 on highway. The only thing that I don't like is gear shifting it can be smoother. The pickup is just awesome. The seating posture is so comfortable. Braking can be better!
