Hyosung Aquila GV250 Summary

DSK-Hyosung has launched the quarter litre cruiser, the Aquila 250 at the 2014 Auto Expo. This makes it the third cruiser from the company’s lineup after the Aquila Pro and the ST7.

The Aquila 250 has classic styling which is not very inspiring but still stands out when compared to the single-cylinder Indian motorcycles. The handle bar is low, making it a very comfortable motorcycle to ride for long distances and together with the round headlamp, form base of the classic design.

The Aquila 250 is powered by 249cc V-Twin oil cooled engine that churns out 26.21bhp at 95,000 rpm and maximum torque of 21.37 Nm at 7,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and transfers power to its rear wheel via a chain drive. It gets 16-inch wheels with 110/90 tyre and 15-inch 150/80 tyre at the front and rear respectively. The cruiser features single disc with 2 pistons caliper in the front but gets drum brakes at the rear. For a bike that costs around Rs 3 lakh on-road, rear disc brake should have been standard. With a kerb weight of 179kg, the bike is not as heavy as it looks and should be easy to ride in city traffic.

The Hyosung Aquila 250 has been priced at Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and is available in three colours – black, red and white. Currently, the most affordable cruiser in the market is the Bajaj Avenger which is almost Rs 1.5 lakh cheaper that the Aquila 250 because of its single-cylinder configuration. But if you are looking for a premium cruiser, yet don’t want to spend a lot, then the Aquila 250 is your bike.

Hyosung Aquila GV250 Review

  • Good Things

    • The low-riding stance is comfortable
    • Easy to do long distance
    • The engine has decent amount of torque
  • Could be Better

    • Service network is poor
    • Could get better quality components
    • Design is quite old now

BikeWale's Take

The GV250 has the looks, riding ergonomics and comfort of a big cruiser motorcycle. However, it falls short due too its weak service network and quality of components.

      Poor chrome

      Nitin Tyagi

Aquila is very good looking very comfortable vintage design cruiser, this performance is very good, handling and looks is also very nice, this sound is good. I face some problems in some chrome parts, they are rusted in every six month. I enjoying my bike, i like aquila but i love my rx 100 1987 model.

      DON'T BUY IT!!!

      Chandrakiran Nakka

Buying Experience was good.. But after riding the bike for about 7 months 4000kms I started noticing few low quality products like the switches , stand switch and vibration after crossing 110kmph that is not expected from a bike at that price point. Service is really bad especially in andhra pradesh... not at all recommended. Don't buy it.

1.its cost is much. 2.but comfort is much better than other bikes. 3.it looks like a modern ghost. it is better for long distance travelling, many times I have used it about 300kms travelling i enjoyed its comfort, there are many bikes but I love this bike much than others. and i am deciding to take Aquila pro as a next bike.

The perfect bike for cruiser lovers...

      G Raghavender Reddy

Its a good bike i have ever ride, good looking and performance with good millage. I've been riding this bike from last 19 months. I got good experience. But in workshop mechanics are not well trained and experienced. Have to look on that, if give some complaint they will give explanation for that but no solution. Remaining everything is excellent.....

Good bike with great driving comfort

      Raj

      Style bike looks great.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox engine is smooth with good pick up. Engines lacks torque and had to down shift a lot during climbs.

Ride quality & handling biker comfort is really awesome for this bike for pillion as well as rider.

      Final words good bike.

Areas of improvement need to increase torque of this bike for more driving ease.
