The bike looks good. Has road presence. But fails to deliver in terms of performance. It stops on the run on l;ow gears..No one knows why. The service engineers have not been able to figure out yet. The only option left is to escalate it to company and seek a replacement. Besides this there are other issues which can be ignored. The one i am dealing with poses threat to life.

Jawa 42 is definitely costly than the bullet 350 but it's worth it, while riding you'll feel the redline pull is greater than the normal rpm.
Road presence is awesome as it rolls heads of the people.
Services offered by the Jawa is too good and maintenance cost is pocket friendly.
Jawa is one of the oldest company than royal Enfield and also has more power and pull in redline as compared to other bikes. And basically it is bike where you can ride on the daily basis.
It's bike which is touring not for racing, and don't try to lean on jawa 42 because of it's ground clearance.

  • Best in some ways.

    Apurv Jain

Buying the forty-two was one of the greatest moments for me. The riding experience is not so good as the seat is not very comfortable, the rear suspensions are quite disappointing and the ground clearance is the least in the segment. But the power it exhales is enormous. I love riding the bike despite all that.

  • Not worth it.

    Jay Mehta

The buying experience and the riding experience for the bike are average.
What is problematic is the service and the quality of the parts used in the bike.
Within 3 years the major parts of the bike are catching rust.
    Shock-absorber, gear padel, nuts, engine.
The majority of the parts are catching rust.
The fuel meter is not accurate.
The bike to this date has traveled only 13,000 km.
I purchased my bike in Jan 2021.
    Then covid hit.
So the bike has only been active for around a year.
    Still, this is the condition.
If only in 3 years this is the condition of the bike it's emotionally a very disturbing thing.
    Pros:
    Good power
    Good for rides
    Cons:
    Service
    Parts quality
    Fuel meter
    Ground clearance
    100% not worth the money.

  • Engine light appears at every 100 to 150 km

    Karan

The riding and performance of the bike are good
But in 3 months bike visit the showroom more than three times for engine light
Jawa workers resolve the problem and it comes back in travel of 100 to 150 km
They change the parts which are damaged
The exhaust is not equal for every bike I see
    Nuts' quality is very poor.
Suggest not buying either go for some other bike.

  • Jawa 42 is not for 2

    Karthikn

    Buying experience was good
First and foremost build quality must be improved like speedometer and indicators don't work effectively and efficiently. Ground clearance is not good, even on a small height bumps the exhaust pipe hits the ground. Being and reputed brand these two features should have been considered
Pillion rider with medium height cannot sit for long distance as the height fro seat to the foot rest is very less. This causes knee pain in long drives.
Driving experience on long drive is good. Smooth for rider. Ergonomics for rider is good . But not for pillion rider.
Overall in my opinion Honda's new 350cc bike is much better option than jawa 42 and re.

It was just an awesome experience with Jawa, The built quality is too good and requires less maintenance and also good milage. Don't forget to change the oil after a 2500km drive and the buying experience was good in a friendly environment just go for it.

After a long time the name jawa is back it feels awesome, there are many positives in this jawa 42 but there is some negatives too *ground clearance is bad* *build quality is not good* but jawa 42 is best in speed, look, performance etc comparing between these two jawa 42 is the perfect one. Re is good but jawa is double good best bike under 2l.
