I visited Jawa showroom in Karamana Trivandrum, like some one said in previous comments, the test ride bike was rusted in places, rate is not as per given. 2,20,000 and above was quoted, when I asked for discount on ready cash payment, no was the answer, 5000 extra for base accessories which should have been free. Planning for Honda or enfield now

1. Great pick up
2. Cool retro looks.
3. Good service by the dealer (Delhi north)
Cons:
1 stiff ride quality
2. Not comfortable for pillion
3. Bad mileage
4. Costly aftersales. Parts are expensive. Service is expensive
5. Rusting at most places
6. Quality of parts used is of low quality
7. Stock sear comfort is too bad. Replacement is must
8 leg guard provided by the showroom is very bad
9. the Main stand does not go into rest position automatically.
The fuel meter shows incorrect information. The suspension is very stiff. It scrapes even normal speed bumps.
After owning this bike for 3 years and clocking 21000 kms. I would recommend this bike only for weekend rides. It's not for a daily commute.

Its spares are worthless of their genuinity, they are looting money from the public in the name of genuine parts, vehicles get out of order any time between your important rides and create extreme frustration how to toe away to the agency, local mechanics deny from repairing this bike as it's spares are too costly to handle the comfortable ride, it's better to go for royal Enfield, you will not cry, jawa is a waste of money and your emotions, it's not at the level of the cruiser, it's just a simple motorcycle and they are just trying to create a brand to make their spare parts more expensive to recover their manufacturing costs.

Awesome sporty riding posture....Seat could have been better(still no issue...Can be fixed by minor up-gradation). Looks-wise far far better than re(same old shit with generator inside ;) ) or others in this segment...It has a masculine presence.More and more power. Instrument cluster could have been better. Again can be fixed by minor up-gradation. No vibration at all. Good service. And the exhaust note....Uffffff just amazing. Its not dug..Dhuk...Dug...Dhuk...It is drooom... Once a legend always a legend.

Riding you can't just imagine it's so smooth and impressive like there is no vibration issue, no ground clearance issue the motor pulls very nicely and gear box is smooth shifting it feel so punchy. Performance is nice as it produces 27 horsepower, breaking performance is really good. Taking u turn in bike is no issue. Overall riding experience in city was so good for me3. It is a beauty bike, front mudguard is smaller, 280mm front disc, headlight is not joined to handle bar, lever is decent and jawa is written in handgrip, engine is a piece of art it look so beautiful , twin exhaust pipes, we get back rest and space for luggage at back and tail light is too small, 18 inch front tire and 17 inch back tire, seat is hard and slim but very good for long trip as smooth seat i won't recommend for long ride, tank look beautiful, both the side space kit we get, even though it look heavy it is very light, there is a fuel meter, speedometer and odometer. Horn is loud and jawa 42 sound really nice once u start it. Over all the jawa 42 motorcycle is good and for me top speed is 120. After first service i got 39 kmpl, first service is after 1000 kilometer o after 3 months as per me the cost is not too much... Pro- The name jawa is a legendary as someone see and take a attention on it as people as stopped me to ask about new jawa The attractive and beautiful looks, most people liked it and praised in front of me. Specifications as u get liquid cool engine in 290cc so if u even ride for 8 to 10 hours there won't be any heating issue and the power and torque it produce is really one of the reason to recommend it. Easy handling has it is lightweight and it is very easy to ride in cities Low seating is one plus point because even if u lose control while stopping u can easily lift it up backCons-Ground clearance is little less when you wanted to ride in mounted area. Add on accessories is more, you don't get much with this motorbike, you don't get scratch guard and central stand with it, ladies side footrest you need to buy and also back rest and few many thingsHorn is loud but not good as it make sound like some moped.

Gives feel of riding like a cafe racer. just loved it. expecting few good accessories and it will a blast for youngsters. combination of vintage class n power. pick up too good to challenge any bike in this segment. will feel proud to be a owner of this bike.waiting ON.

Look wise stunning it has got every head turning and admiring. this is the first bike in my area, hence i have got around 5-6 people daily asking about the cost mileage and experience,
Pros-1 stunning look totally a treat to eyes 2. High power., much better than re 350 3. Great stabilization on the road. Literally mo vibration till 110 i have touched around 125kmph 5. Dual abs works perfectly 5. Saddle height is somewhat low so if you are around 5'5 then this is great won't suit you if you more than 5'10 6.exhaust sound is also good 7.the handle width gives a retro look. 8. Lighter than re350 you will be able to move it easily physically
Cons 1. First. Of all low ground clearance 2. Seat could have been made more comfortable 3. In rainy seasons it water droplets spills on the bike itself making it dirty.
Rest no issues
If you are confused between re350 and jawa42 then my suggestion is to go with jawa 42
. I have owned re350 before and i am not going back to it mileage is around 32-33 and and it will increase after few servicing.

I am facing constant mechanical failure from my jawa bike. Since the time of purchase, I am facing n number of challenges that weren’t rectified properly. And takes time to resolve.
In a span of six months, I have towed my vehicle to the service station three times due to mechanical failure.
Talking about the last incident my vehicle was towed to the service center due to mechanical failure. They said it would take three days to repair, however, it took two weeks to repair. After these two weeks, I received a call from the service center saying the vehicle is ready. When I received the vehicle from the service center the front brake was not effective even after changing the brake pad during the service. The total amount for the service was inr 22,000. I was surprised by the fact that even the brake was not rectified properly after changing the brake pad and charging a ‘labor charge’ for each individual item replaced or repaired and on top of that paid service charge and consumable charges.
I notified the service manager and they took the vehicle for inspection again. An hour later the manager informed me that it would take one more day. I returned to work from there. The vehicle was delivered to my workplace after a day saying it is in perfect condition now. The vehicle was not properly rectified even after that. While riding, the vehicle is getting off and not getting started. I took a video and informed the service manager. The same process happened again. They came took the vehicle, said it is rectified, and delivered it a day later. Again the same story. The same mechanical issue isn’t rectified. Informed them and they took my vehicle to the service center again.
In these three years of owning this vehicle, I have spent almost half the vehicle cost on services and repairs. This is my only vehicle and I depend on it on a daily basis for all my travel be it for work or other purposes. While comparing the ownership cost of other bikes in this category I feel that my choice to buy a Jawa product was a disaster. I feel cheated of my hard-earned money.
