- 2020 Husqvarna 701 models unveiled
- Get new colours and quickshifter
- Could be sold in India sometime in 2021
Husqvarna has taken the wraps off the 2020 Svarpilen 701 and Vitpilen 701 for international markets.
To begin with, both motorcycles get new colour schemes. The Vitpilen 701 sports a paint scheme that has been derived from the Husqvarna Aero concept. It gets a blue paint on the front fender and fuel tank and a white paint for the rear section. On the other hand, the scrambler-styled 2020 Svartpilen 701 receives a rugged-looking brown/black/silver colour combination that highlights its off-road character.
Apart from the new paint options, the motorcycles also get a quickshifter as standard. And underneath the tubular steel trellis frame is a 692cc, single-cylinder engine that puts out 75bhp and 72Nm of torques similar to the 2019 models. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 and Vitpilen 701 ride on WP-sourced inverted forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Both motorcycles now get spoke wheels as standard. While the Svarpilen offers dual-purpose rubber from Pirelli, the Vitpilen uses road tyres sourced from Bridgestone.
The brand recently unveiled the Svarpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 at the 2019 IBW. The motorcycles are expected to be launched in the country in February 2020. We can expect Husqvarna to introduce the bigger 701 models depending on the response the smaller 250cc versions receive.
