Suzuki has revealed the 2020 iteration of its litre-class supersport motorcycle, the GSX-R1000R for the Japanese market. The 2020 model receives cosmetic upgrades in the form of new colours. The mechanical specifications, on the other hand, remain unaltered.
The 2020 GSX-R1000R will be offered in three colours – 100th anniversary paint (Triton Blue Metallic/Mystic Silver Metallic), Triton Blue Metallic and Matte Black Metallic. All colour options of the motorcycle are priced at 2,156,000 yen in Japan. The 2020 model will be available in the country from 30 July.
Mechanical specifications continue to include the 999cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor with Suzuki Racing Variable Valve Timing technology that delivers 194bhp at 13,200rpm and 117Nm of peak torque at 10,800rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed transmission.
Similar to the mechanical specifications, the hardware, too, has been carried forward. Thus, the shock absorption tasks are handled by Showa Balance Free Front-Forks and Showa Balance Free Rear Cushion. Anchoring duties are handled by 320mm twin discs at the front and a 220mm single rotor at the back. Other features include full LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster.
