New spy shots of the next-generation Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 have surfaced online. The bike, which was spotted at the Bajaj factory, appears to be in production-ready condition. The new Svartpilen 401 features several updates over the previous model, including fresh bodywork, new hardware, and different tires.
Design
The bodywork is more aggressive and features larger side bulges, a longer tail, and a more spacious seat. The hardware has been borrowed from the upcoming KTM 390 Duke, including a new chassis, an offset mono-shock, and a revised swing-`arm. The bike also has lighter alloy wheels and a disc brake on the right side.
Cycle Parts
The tires are road-focused Metzelers, which suggests that the new Svartpilen 401 will be more of a roadster than a scrambler. The presence of a saree guard suggests that the bike is meant for the Indian market. While the official launch is expected to happen soon, this will be the first time that Husqvarna will offer the 401 range of motorcycles in India.
Looks like the suspension hardware has been borrowed from the 2024 KTM 390 Duke, which should include compression and rebound adjustment for the front forks and preload and rebound adjustability for the mono-shock. Even the lighter wheels and brakes seem to be carried over from the existing KTM RC 390. Meanwhile, the test mule of the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 was spotted with Metzeler Sportec M5 tyres, indicating its road-focused nature than being a scrambler.
Launch Date and Price
Given its production-ready avatar, we believe the official launch is just around the corner. The next-generation KTM 390 Duke is expected to be launched in Q1 2024, so we can expect the Huskies to go on sale after the launch of the new Duke range. As for its pricing, we expect the 2024 Svartpilen 401 to be priced below the 2024 KTM 390 Duke. So, a price tag of Rs. 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom) is likely.
